Published on:

“Mission First. Leadership Always.”

Brian Overstreet is an accomplished executive, entrepreneur, investor, and defense industry leader whose distinguished career spans more than thirty years across military service, Fortune 50 corporate leadership, high-growth government contracting, mergers and acquisitions, and private investment. Recognized for his ability to build organizations from inception to successful exits, Brian has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership in highly regulated and mission-critical environments serving the United States Department of Defense, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and the Intelligence Community. His unique blend of operational expertise, strategic planning, governance experience, and executive leadership positions him as a trusted advisor for organizations navigating growth, transformation, and complex national security challenges.

Brian began his leadership journey serving as a Communications Officer in the United States Army, where he supported the 8th Army, the 4th Psychological Operations Group, and the U.S. Army Special Operations Command’s 112th Signal Battalion (SO)(A). His military service provided invaluable experience leading under pressure while supporting critical communications and operational missions. Working alongside elite Special Operations units cultivated a leadership philosophy rooted in discipline, accountability, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to mission success—principles that continue to guide his executive career today.

Following his military service, Brian joined Dell Technologies, where he spent more than seven years advancing through senior leadership positions. As Director of Sales and Operations, he led Federal and State & Local Government operations while overseeing a government sales organization responsible for more than $500 million in annual revenue across eleven states. Managing large-scale government programs, cross-functional teams, and complex procurement environments strengthened his expertise in operational leadership, enterprise sales, strategic planning, and customer engagement. His success within one of the world’s largest technology companies provided a strong foundation for the entrepreneurial ventures that would follow.

Brian’s entrepreneurial achievements are best exemplified through the co-founding of ARMA Global Corporation, where he served as Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Under his operational leadership, ARMA Global rapidly evolved into one of the fastest-growing defense technology companies in the United States, providing information technology, mission support, logistics, and operational services exclusively to Special Operations Forces, the Intelligence Community, and other federal agencies. During his tenure, the company earned national recognition for extraordinary growth, including placement on Washington Technology’s prestigious Fast 50 list with an impressive 87 percent annual revenue growth rate over five years. ARMA also received recognition from Inc. Magazine and the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies before its successful acquisition by General Dynamics in 2014.

The successful sale of ARMA Global established Brian as a proven executive capable of creating significant enterprise value while leading organizations through periods of rapid expansion. His experience managing operational scaling, government compliance, talent acquisition, customer delivery, and executive leadership during high-growth phases has become one of his defining strengths. Throughout his career, Brian has consistently demonstrated that sustainable growth is achieved through disciplined execution, exceptional people, and a relentless focus on customer mission success.

Brian later accepted the role of President of Iron EagleX, a rapidly expanding defense integration company supporting the nation’s most sensitive government missions. As President, he led the company’s organizational restructuring while directing its mergers and acquisitions strategy in partnership with investment bankers and shareholders. He played a central role in developing the company’s strategic roadmap, evaluating acquisition opportunities, aligning stakeholders, and positioning the organization for long-term success. His leadership helped prepare Iron EagleX for its successful acquisition by General Dynamics Information Technology, marking Brian’s second formation-to-exit success within the defense contracting industry.

Following the acquisition, Brian remained with Iron EagleX as Director of Strategic Initiatives, where he served as a trusted advisor to executive leadership throughout post-acquisition integration. He focused on organizational design, executive coaching, staffing strategy, operational optimization, and competitive market positioning. This experience further expanded his expertise in change management, corporate integration, leadership development, and enterprise transformation. His ability to maintain organizational stability while driving operational improvements during periods of significant change has become one of his greatest executive strengths.

Today, Brian serves as Managing Partner of Bellator LLC, a proprietary investment firm focused exclusively on pre-seed and seed-stage companies supporting U.S. Special Operations Command and the Intelligence Community. Bellator deploys its own capital into highly specialized government-focused businesses without relying on outside investors or limited partners, allowing for rapid, independent investment decisions. Brian applies decades of firsthand operating experience to mentor founders, evaluate investment opportunities, advise executive teams, and help early-stage companies navigate growth within the highly regulated defense contracting marketplace. His investment philosophy is built upon practical experience earned through successfully building, scaling, and exiting multiple companies rather than relying solely on traditional venture capital methodologies.

Brian also brings valuable governance experience to the boardroom. As a member of the Board of Directors for ARMA Aviation, he contributed to executive selection, strategic planning, board governance, and corporate oversight while helping establish governance processes that strengthened organizational performance. His experience operating from both management and board perspectives enables him to understand the distinct responsibilities of executive leadership and fiduciary oversight. Combined with his active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility, Brian offers boards a rare perspective on governance within highly secure, compliance-driven industries.

Throughout his career, Brian has developed extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, operational scaling, risk management, government contracting, and organizational leadership. His experience working alongside investment bankers, shareholders, executive teams, and government stakeholders provides him with a comprehensive understanding of enterprise value creation from multiple perspectives. He has successfully led organizations through startup formation, accelerated growth, acquisitions, restructuring initiatives, and post-merger integration, making him exceptionally qualified to advise companies pursuing transformational growth or strategic transactions.

Brian’s professional experience also includes international exposure throughout Eastern Europe, where he has supported defense-related initiatives and cultivated an appreciation for global security dynamics and multinational collaboration. His broad perspective allows him to understand how geopolitical trends, emerging technologies, and government priorities influence organizational strategy and long-term growth opportunities.

Academically, Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from the University of South Florida, where he participated in the Army ROTC program, before completing a Master of Arts in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University. His educational background complements decades of practical executive leadership and reinforces his analytical approach to solving complex business challenges.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, Brian enjoys golfing and values the discipline, focus, and relationship-building that the game encourages. As he actively seeks additional board service opportunities, he remains motivated by the opportunity to help organizations strengthen governance, navigate strategic change, accelerate growth, manage risk, and create long-term shareholder value. Drawing upon experience spanning military leadership, Fortune 50 operations, entrepreneurship, board governance, mergers and acquisitions, private investment, and national security, Brian brings an exceptional combination of executive insight, operational excellence, and strategic leadership to every organization he serves.
