Anna Giabourani is an accomplished principal consultant with extensive experience in the legal services industry. Her career spans over two decades, during which she has developed expertise in banking, secured debt transactions, acquisition and project finance, and real estate economics. Anna has a proven track record in holding directorship positions in private equity funds, in-house counsel and legal advisor positions to family offices, as well as trustee roles in family trusts, private not-for-profit foundations, and public charities.
Since August 2015, Anna has served as the Principal Consultant at Anna Giabourani, Attorney at Law, where she advises on domestic and international corporate, business investing, and debt finance matters. She serves as a director and US legal counsel to a multi-strategy, off-shore registered private mutual fund and holds officer positions in the private trust companies of two US public charities. Anna also represents a European multi-family office in estate planning and business succession matters, private equity investments, and general corporate transactions in the US and she serves as a manager of the US affiliate of the first organic dairy company in Greece.
Previously, Anna was Of Counsel at Withers Bergman LLP from 2009 to 2015, where she led the Withers Greece Special Interest Group and co-headed the International Finance and Projects practice in the US. She represented clients in sectors such as energy, transportation, manufacturing, and hospitality, providing advice on cross-border bank finance and corporate transactions, private equity fund formations, and investment structuring. During her tenure at Withers Bergman LLP Anna served as remote in-house counsel to a European family office advising on all its US matters from real estate investing to litigation management.
Before Withers Bergman LLP, Anna worked at Bingham McCutchen LLP from 2005 to 2009, where she was part of the Banking & Leveraged Finance Group. She represented lenders and borrowers in domestic and international finance transactions and advised UBS, AG Stamford Branch on loan portfolio risk management during a secondment.
Anna began her career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she worked from 1997 to 2005. As an associate, she handled domestic and international acquisition financing, Debtor-In-Possession financing, and corporate restructuring transactions.
Anna holds an LL.M. in Corporate and Securities Law from the University of Chicago Law School and an LL.B. with summa cum laude honors from the University of Athens School of Law. She also earned an Erasmus Certificate in European Law from the University of Groningen School of Law.
