Executive Profile

Aaron L. Gilbert is an entertainment executive, entrepreneur, producer, financier, and strategic advisor with more than 30 years of experience across film, television, gaming, animation, media technology, intellectual property, and international distribution. He has served on the boards of more than a dozen companies, including as chair of several organizations, and brings the perspective of a founder, chief executive, investor, and operating partner to board deliberations.

Aaron has built, expanded, invested in, and sold businesses while working with creative talent, studios, distributors, streaming platforms, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions. His board value is grounded in practical experience: evaluating investments, allocating capital, structuring commercial relationships, overseeing growth, and balancing creative ambition with financial discipline. He is particularly well suited to organizations navigating changes in content economics, technology, consumer behavior, and global markets.

Board Contribution

  • Strategy and growth  Experience developing businesses, entering new markets, forming partnerships, and assessing opportunities across established and emerging entertainment platforms.
  • Capital and transactions  Direct experience with entertainment financing, capital allocation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investment, intellectual property valuation, licensing, and exit execution.
  • Content and intellectual property  A working understanding of how film, television, animation, gaming, and related rights are developed, financed, produced, distributed, and monetized.
  • Governance and leadership  Board and chair experience combined with nearly fourteen years leading a global entertainment organization and working with management teams, investors, and institutional partners.
  • International perspective  Business relationships and professional activity across North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America, with experience in cross-border partnerships and distribution.

Executive and Entrepreneurial Leadership

Aaron began his career through ventures in artist management, music publishing, and international content licensing. He later expanded into animation, visual effects, advertising, IPTV, and media distribution as a founder, partner, shareholder, and advisor. Building and selling businesses gave him direct experience in enterprise development, commercial positioning, capital decisions, and execution through changing market conditions.

In 2010, Aaron co-founded BRON Studios with Brenda Gilbert and served as Chief Executive Officer. He later served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BRON Media Corp., overseeing corporate strategy, operations, financing, and international business relationships. During nearly fourteen years of leadership, BRON grew into a production and financing enterprise with operations in Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York, Toronto, and London, and participated in independent and studio film, premium television, animation, gaming, media technology, and strategic investment.

Aaron played a leading role in the production, financing, and executive oversight of more than 135 film and television projects. His producing and executive-producing credits include Joker, Fences, Judas and the Black Messiah, House of Gucci, Bombshell, Licorice Pizza, The Mule, Greyhound, The Green Knight, Ghostbusters Afterlife, and The Addams Family films. Projects in his associated portfolio have generated more than $3 billion in worldwide box office revenue and received 38 Academy Award nominations with six wins, 13 Emmy Award nominations with three wins, 39 BAFTA nominations with nine wins, and 19 Golden Globe nominations with five wins.

Investment Technology and Global Markets

Aaron led BRON Ventures, which supported eleven creator-led companies in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Mexico. The initiative provided operational guidance, creative development, financing assistance, and sales and licensing support. Through BRON Digital, he also gained experience with animation, interactive gaming, and virtual production pipelines powered by Epic Games Unreal Engine.

His studio, distribution, and platform relationships have included Warner Bros., Amazon MGM Studios, Sony, Universal Pictures, Paramount, Lionsgate, A24, Searchlight Pictures, HBO, Apple, and Netflix. This work has required attention to regional market conditions, financing structures, distribution economics, cultural considerations, and the practical demands of operating across jurisdictions.

Current Activities

Since January 2024, Aaron has worked independently as an executive advisor, investor, producer, and entrepreneur. He advises companies, producers, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions on film and television financing, strategic partnerships, project packaging, distribution, go-to-market strategy, and entertainment transactions. His current work includes advising a United States investment banking firm involved in studio film financing and sports-franchise investment; developing opportunities in live entertainment, music streaming, immersive experiences, brand-funded content, and youth-focused media; and executive producing animated and live-action film and television projects.

Recognition and Professional Engagement

Aaron has appeared in Variety’s Dealmakers Impact Report and has been named to the Variety500 three times. In 2021, The Hollywood Reporter named him International Producer of the Year. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Television Academy, the Producers Guild of America, and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.

He has also spoken at UCLA, USC, the AFI Conservatory, the American Film Market, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the Sundance Film Festival. His experience communicating with creative, financial, academic, and executive audiences supports productive discussion among stakeholders with different priorities and areas of expertise.

Board Focus

Aaron is interested in board positions with media, film, television, gaming, and entertainment-related organizations where his operating experience and industry relationships can contribute to financial performance, commercial expansion, strategic partnerships, risk oversight, and enterprise value. He is particularly motivated by opportunities to work with leadership teams confronting the intersection of creativity, technology, capital, and changing consumer behavior.
