Currently serving as Director of Asset Performance & Benchmarking for ConocoPhillips’ Lower 48 Strategy & Portfolio Management team, William is responsible for shaping strategy, analyzing asset performance, and supporting executive decision-making on over $7 billion in annualized capital. His prior leadership as Strategic Planner of Wells Intervention involved managing a $70 million annual program focused on high-value workovers in the Gulf Coast and Rockies. Earlier, as Operations Supervisor in ConocoPhillips’ Canadian oil sands operations, he led a 60-person team in achieving production targets across 14 well pads, demonstrating frontline leadership in a complex SAGD reservoir environment.
William’s career foundation was built in Alaska, where he contributed to major capital projects, facility operations, pipeline integrity, and production engineering for the Greater Kuparuk Area—a legacy North Slope asset. He has been entrusted with multimillion-dollar projects and held direct accountability for HSE, asset integrity, and regulatory compliance across some of the industry’s most challenging geographies.
In 2016, William was tapped for a corporate-level role aligning long-range subsurface and technology strategy with executive leadership. His career reflects strong cross-functional expertise—collaborating with drilling, operations, commercial, and regulatory teams to drive efficiency, safety, and growth.
William’s early career includes a unique assignment with the Central Intelligence Agency, where he served with Top-Secret Clearance as an Analyst in the National Counter-Terrorism Center. He is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Business Training Program and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University.
