His ability to integrate digital strategy with business execution enabled the company to enhance agility while maintaining strong operational discipline.

In addition to driving cost efficiencies, Tom played a pivotal role in scaling global business services functions, including finance, human resources, supply chain, and commercial operations. This resulted in an additional $30 million in annual savings while maintaining exceptional service levels. By leveraging technology as a strategic enabler, he also supported the successful launch of a new commercial product that generated more than $600 million in revenue, underscoring his ability to connect innovation with tangible business outcomes.

A key aspect of Tom’s leadership is his commitment to modernization and forward-looking capabilities. At Japan Tobacco International, he led initiatives to enhance enterprise architecture, strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, and advance data and analytics capabilities. He also established a global governance structure for artificial intelligence, positioning the organization to responsibly adopt emerging technologies while unlocking new sources of value across commercial and operational functions.

Prior to his role at Japan Tobacco International, Tom spent over fifteen years at Colgate-Palmolive where he was Chief Information Officer and Business Services Officer. During his tenure, he led large-scale transformation efforts that optimized the company’s global technology landscape and business operations. His initiatives delivered more than $70 million in annual IT savings and over $30 million in additional efficiencies through shared services optimization, demonstrating his expertise in cost management and operational excellence.

Tom’s impact at Colgate-Palmolive extended beyond cost savings. He established a global analytics center in Mumbai that provided actionable insights to improve commercial and supply chain performance. His leadership in modernizing systems, enhancing cybersecurity, and strengthening data governance helped position the organization for sustained success in an increasingly digital and data-driven environment.

Earlier in his career, Tom held multiple divisional CIO roles at Honeywell International, where he supported diverse business units including specialty materials, aerospace services, and engineered plastics.
