Tim most recently served as Senior Vice President and Director of Business Loan Solutions at PNC (formerly BBVA), where he held enterprise-wide credit authority up to $10 million and led the strategic expansion of portfolio management processes across all lines of business. Under his leadership, the underwriting department evolved into a diverse and high-functioning team spanning multiple cities. He played a pivotal role in designing and implementing a renewals segmentation strategy that streamlined underwriting operations and improved risk assessment consistency. These innovations not only elevated performance across business banking but also led to company-wide adoption—from coast to coast—supporting portfolios with up to $10 million in aggregate debt and $50 million in sales. 

As Credit Risk Officer for all lines of business within Business Loan Solutions, Tim was responsible for overseeing complex credit functions, including loan renewals, covenant waivers, Moody’s risk ratings, and payment deferments. He further led the Triage process that dramatically reduced the need for annual reviews on loans under $5 million, a strategic efficiency measure that impacted a substantial portion of the portfolio. 

Prior to his tenure at PNC/BBVA, Tim served as Manager of Regional Credit Administration for Compass Bank (now PNC) from 1998 to 2010. There, he directed a $453 million regional business banking portfolio with a consistently outstanding performance of less than 30 basis points in losses—an impressive track record that spanned more than a decade. He oversaw underwriting and administrative staff supporting a 31-person sales force across Houston, East Texas, and several South Texas markets, while personally managing  business relationships and problem loans exceeding $100K. Tim was instrumental in shaping the organization’s credit policies, having created the Houston RCA template that was later adopted bank-wide. He also provided leadership across multiple regions, including temporary oversight of Dallas RCA and management of an additional team in Birmingham focused on triage and mortgage-related functions. 

Tim began his career at Compass Bank as a Relationship Manager, where he built the foundation of his client-centric and results-driven approach to banking. He holds both a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington and is designated as a Qualified Commercial Lender through OMEGA Seminars.
