    Ted Nash: Corporate Leader, Strategist, and Financial Professional

    Ted Nash is a distinguished corporate director, strategist, and financial professional with an accomplished career spanning over three decades. Known for his expertise in navigating complex strategic and transactional challenges, Mr. Nash has made significant contributions to the growth and transformation of both public and private companies. Since 2016, he has been a director of Pizza Pizza Royalty Corporation, contributing to its audit committee. At Computershare Trust Company of Canada, where he has served since 2015, Mr. Nash chairs the Risk and Audit Committee, guiding the organization’s risk management and assurance practices. His leadership extends to chairing Celco Inc., a foodservice equipment wholesaler, and Rent-a-Son Inc., a moving business, where he has steered strategic expansions and product launches. Notably, Mr. Nash played a pivotal role in the acquisition of TMX Group Limited as part of a consortium that successfully thwarted a competing bid by the London Stock Exchange.

    Much of Mr. Nash’s professional journey was with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and its group of companies, where he spent nearly two decades in progressively senior roles. As Managing Director and Head of Corporate Development, he led transformative initiatives, including strategic acquisitions and divestitures worth $2.5 billion and the development of a growth strategy for CIBC’s U.S. expansion. While simultaneously leading Merchant Banking, he was responsible for a $1.8 billion portfolio and led $1.3 billion of new investments. During his tenure as Managing Director of Mergers & Acquisitions at CIBC World Markets, Mr. Nash’s team executed over 250 announced transactions valued at more than $225 billion, earning multiple industry accolades.  Earlier work included almost three years as a management consultant with Arthur D. Little, focused on strategic and organizational assignments for industrial-products and financial-services businesses.

    In addition to his corporate achievements, Mr. Nash is the founder and Managing Director of Nash & Company Capital Managers, an investment firm focused on acquiring and developing small businesses. His entrepreneurial spirit has been instrumental in revitalizing Rent-a-Son and Celco, aligning them with sustainable growth strategies.

    Mr. Nash’s commitment to the community is evident through his extensive involvement in charitable endeavors. He has held leadership roles with organizations like Prostate Cancer Canada, Covenant House Toronto, and The Church of St. Paul, contributing his expertise to fundraising, governance, and operational improvement. His works include Honeymoon in Greece and Other Misadventures, a book capturing his family travels, and a co-authored chapter on corporate finance and cross-border transactions. He has also contributed to the academic community as a guest lecturer and active alumnus of prestigious institutions.

    Mr. Nash holds an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, and an MA in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with honors from Queen’s University, where he was recognized for his outstanding contributions to campus life.
