Sergiy Zubko is a global security, risk, and intelligence leader whose career has been defined by a willingness to step into complex environments, build programs from the ground up, and create order where no established playbook exists. As he describes it: “I’ve spent my career walking into organizations with no roadmap and building one — in the US Government, Hollywood, Big Tech, and now AI infrastructure. I thrive where judgment matters more than precedent.” With over a decade of professional experience spanning the U.S. government, global technology companies, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence infrastructure, supply chain operations, and corporate security, he brings a rare combination of operational discipline, strategic judgment, and cross-functional leadership. That mindset has shaped a career spent protecting people, information, sensitive intellectual property, and mission-critical infrastructure in some of the world’s most scrutinized organizations.
Today, Sergiy serves as a Security Engineer and Program Manager within Meta’s Infrastructure Data Center organization, where he leads and develops a global supply chain security program supporting the company’s AI infrastructure and data center ecosystem. His responsibilities encompass the protection of more than $20 billion in assets in transit and at rest, approximately 10 million square feet of storage and facility space, and a global workforce of roughly 10,000 personnel supporting critical infrastructure. Working across manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, vendor networks, and technical security functions, he influences senior leaders and partner organizations without relying on formal authority. His role requires him to anticipate and respond to both physical and cyber threats while aligning security strategy with the operational realities of a fast-moving technology environment.
Before joining Meta, Sergiy served as a Program Manager focused on security risk, resilience, and intelligence at Waymo, Alphabet’s autonomous vehicle company. There, he helped build security and risk-management capabilities designed to protect highly sensitive vehicle hardware, artificial intelligence systems, proprietary sensor technologies, and prototype supply chains. He designed and executed a security assessment program spanning more than 100 facilities globally and translated findings into improvement roadmaps covering physical safeguards, staffing models, policy, and security technology. He also developed company-wide standards for facility and prototype security and produced geopolitical risk assessments that helped business and security leaders prepare for potential operational disruptions. His experience at Waymo further strengthened his ability to connect emerging technology with enterprise resilience and strategic risk management.
Sergiy’s earlier work at Google placed him at the center of executive protection, threat intelligence, and geopolitical analysis. As a Senior Threat Intelligence Analyst, Investigator, and Program Manager, he supported more than 600 executives and personally carried responsibility for the security intelligence needs of a Google co-founder. He assessed hundreds of physical, reputational, travel, and event-related threats and routinely translated complex intelligence into concise, decision-ready guidance for senior leadership. During Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Sergiy drew on his fluency in Russian and Ukrainian, his regional expertise, and his investigative background to develop more than 50 intelligence reports for senior executives. His work required not only technical research and analytical depth, but also the judgment to determine what information mattered most to leaders operating in a rapidly changing geopolitical environment.
Sergiy also played a foundational role in Google’s global security operations, where he helped build and scale a follow-the-sun threat detection, assessment, investigation, and triage capability. He trained and led analysts based in the United States, EMEA, and the Asia-Pacific region while developing processes for identifying and escalating credible threats. This experience sharpened his expertise in protective intelligence, OSINT, threat management, investigations, insider risk, and crisis response. It also reinforced a pattern visible throughout his career: Sergiy is most effective in environments where a critical capability must be created, operationalized, and scaled quickly.
At Apple, Sergiy expanded that pattern into new product security and intellectual property protection. As a Security Manager, Designer, and Assessor, he helped build the physical security and secrecy program supporting Apple TV productions and managed security across hundreds of thousands of square feet of sensitive production space. He also assessed and strengthened security measures across more than 80 partners in Apple’s global intellectual property and hardware prototype supply chain. His responsibilities included managing protection teams, evaluating physical and digital security controls, operating in high-risk foreign environments, and communicating time-sensitive risk information to senior stakeholders. He additionally produced tactical intelligence during the COVID-19 pandemic for the Apple Executive Team, demonstrating his ability to synthesize uncertainty into practical leadership guidance.
Sergiy began building his investigative and leadership foundation in public service. As a Presidential Management Fellow and Financial Crime Analyst with the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, he investigated money laundering, kleptocracy, terrorist financing, and other forms of illicit finance, with a particular focus on Europe and Eurasia. He served as lead analyst on a complex multinational investigation involving more than $1 billion in stolen assets and a network spanning numerous countries and individuals. His intelligence products were used across the U.S. interagency community, including the Departments of State, Defense, and Justice, and he briefed prosecutors, law enforcement personnel, and intelligence professionals. He also served in an acting leadership capacity overseeing analysts and interns, laying the groundwork for the people leadership and mentoring responsibilities he would later assume in the private sector.
Beyond his operating career, Sergiy brings direct governance experience through more than three years of service on the Board of Directors of the Presidential Management Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on strengthening federal service and supporting alumni of the government’s flagship leadership development program. He also plans to pursue formal board education and credentialing through NACD coursework and the CERT Certificate in Cyber-Risk Oversight from Carnegie Mellon University. His board interests span technology, cybersecurity, security, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, supply chains, and other sectors where operational complexity, geopolitical exposure, or enterprise risk play a meaningful role. He is particularly well positioned to advise organizations that need to embed resilience, security, and disciplined risk governance into growth.
Academically, Sergiy combines business, criminology, and executive leadership training. He holds a Master of Science in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. He is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Cambridge Judge Business School, with expected completion in 2028. He has also completed Google’s Cybersecurity Professional Certificate. This multidisciplinary foundation allows him to bridge technical and operational teams while maintaining a board-level view of risk, strategy, and organizational resilience.
Internationally, Sergiy has worked across Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and other global environments, bringing both cultural fluency and geopolitical awareness to his leadership style. He speaks Russian and Ukrainian in addition to English and has deep experience analyzing security, political, and business developments across Europe and Eurasia. His ability to operate across borders has strengthened his effectiveness in roles involving global supply chains, sensitive assets, executive protection, multinational partners, and evolving geopolitical conditions. He is comfortable moving between strategic planning and front-line execution, and between highly technical conversations and senior executive discussions.

He is an avid open water swimmer, diver, and spearfisherman with a long-standing interest in oceanography and ocean conservation, and he is an enthusiast of hand-built motorcars and complex mechanical systems.
