Scott Heck is a seasoned global security executive with over 38 years at UPS, culminating in his role as president of global security before retiring on October 31, 2024. Throughout his career, he led global security strategies across 220+ countries, ensuring compliance in highly regulated sectors like aviation, healthcare logistics, and defense contracting.

Scott pioneered risk management frameworks, developed a security fusion center, and leveraged advanced analytics to enhance threat detection and mitigation. His leadership in enterprise risk management, compliance, business resilience, and crisis response strengthened UPS’s ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and emerging threats. His efforts earned him the 2021 Changemaker Award for transforming security operations and customer engagement.

A key achievement was his development of a security-as-a-service model, which monetized security solutions while enhancing UPS’s bottom line. He also led a global security transformation plan, optimizing staffing and processes to deliver significant cost savings. In aviation security, Scott ensured compliance with TSA’s 100% export screening mandate, collaborating with government agencies and law enforcement to secure UPS’s global operations.

Scott’s people-first leadership fostered talent development and innovation, recognized by HR as a best practice leader. Beyond UPS, he serves as a mentor and judge for DECA and 3DE competitions and supports the Atlanta Police Foundation’s At-Risk Promise Center.

His academic foundation includes a master’s and bachelor’s degree in law enforcement and criminology from Barrington University, with executive training at the FBI/DSAC Academy and the UPS Digital Fluency Program at Emory University.

Now transitioning to board roles, Scott seeks to leverage his expertise in security, risk management, and strategic governance to drive growth and sustainability for organizations worldwide.
