Randall Wacker is a dynamic financial services executive with over 14 years of progressive experience across asset management, advisor consulting, sales leadership, and business strategy. Known for his thoughtful and relational approach, Randall has built a reputation as a trusted advisor and influential leader within the investment and wealth management space. His career reflects a deliberate and values-centered journey—from a young entrepreneur at a startup brewery to a strategic partner for billion-dollar advisory firms, culminating in his current leadership role at Vanguard. Randall’s story is one of alignment between professional excellence and a deep-seated desire to uplift others through principled financial guidance.

Randall’s current role as an RIA Field Sales Executive in Vanguard’s Financial Advisor Services Group positions him at the intersection of innovation and tradition in asset management. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, he is responsible for managing relationships with over 350 registered investment advisory firms, representing more than $20 billion in assets under management. Randall partners with firms of all sizes—from nimble $50 million boutiques to global players with over $100 billion in assets—to provide insights on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and long-term business development. As a member of Vanguard’s internal executive working group, he contributes to shaping the strategic vision for the firm’s future growth, reflecting his influence well beyond client-facing responsibilities.

Prior to joining Vanguard, Randall spent over seven years at Dimensional Fund Advisors, where he progressed through increasingly senior roles. Beginning as a Senior Associate supporting large RIA clients on the West Coast, Randall quickly distinguished himself through a mix of analytical rigor and authentic client service. He earned a promotion to Regional Director and eventually became a Client Services Manager, where he oversaw a team of eight professionals serving key advisory relationships representing over $5 billion in client assets. His tenure at Dimensional was marked by his frequent engagement as a speaker, moderator, and presenter at conferences and webinars—reinforcing his reputation as a thought leader in the advisor community.

Randall’s early career took shape in non-traditional financial environments, beginning in underwriting at Mortgage Master (now loanDepot), where he learned the foundational principles of credit analysis, asset evaluation, and client qualification. He later transitioned to a sales leadership role at Tailgate Beer, an award-winning microbrewery in San Diego. These experiences honed Randall’s entrepreneurial instincts and built his comfort navigating ambiguity—skills that continue to serve him in high-stakes financial consulting and strategic advisory roles today.

His academic journey reflects a strong intellectual foundation and a clear commitment to leadership. Randall earned his MBA from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, concentrating in Asset Management and Corporate Finance. He was recognized with a Dean’s Scholarship and selected for the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, reflecting both academic excellence and principled leadership. During his time at Boston College, he served as Vice President of Events for the Graduate Management Association and was active in finance-related extracurriculars—demonstrating early his aptitude for both strategic thinking and community building.

Randall also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in Business Management from San Diego State University. His undergraduate years were defined by leadership and advocacy; he served as president of FratMANers, a student organization dedicated to sexual assault prevention and education. This formative experience instilled in him the importance of service-driven leadership and helped shape the empathetic, mission-focused approach he carries into every professional setting.

Throughout his career, Randall has balanced high-level strategic execution with deep client empathy. His approach to leadership is consultative and collaborative, rooted in a belief that long-term success is built not only on numbers and performance but also on trust, transparency, and meaningful partnerships. This people-first philosophy makes him an asset not only to clients but to any organization seeking to grow sustainably and ethically.

Outside of the office, Randall is an active volunteer with the Financial Planning Association’s NorCal Planning Committee, where he helps organize annual conferences for over 500 financial advisors. He also lends his time to the Special Olympics as a day-of-event volunteer—further demonstrating his commitment to service and community. He is conversational in Spanish and remains open to international opportunities, reflecting a global mindset paired with cultural humility.

Randall’s passions span from culinary exploration to sports and outdoor adventure. He believes that great ideas often emerge in informal, human moments—whether around a dinner table, on a hiking trail, or while discussing life’s big questions with friends. This perspective enriches his professional work, adding creativity and relatability to his financial and strategic acumen. He thrives on helping others realize their potential and is especially passionate about working with small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and mission-driven enterprises.

As Randall continues to expand his leadership horizons, he is actively exploring board and advisory roles that allow him to make a broader impact. His ability to operate with both executive precision and grassroots empathy makes him a compelling candidate for boards seeking visionary guidance, financial oversight, and an advocate for sustainable growth.
