“At Your Service.”

For over four decades, Paul Wegert has been a driving force in the hospitality industry, blending visionary leadership with a deep passion for service excellence. His career has been defined by an unwavering commitment to transforming properties into landmark destinations and fostering organizational cultures where both guests and associates thrive. Guided by his personal motto, “At Your Service,” Paul’s work embodies the belief that hospitality is both an art form and a calling—requiring creativity, dedication, and an uncompromising pursuit of quality.

Paul’s journey began with a foundation in operational leadership, where he quickly demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for strategic planning, financial stewardship, and team development. Over the years, he progressed through increasingly senior roles with respected brands such as Hilton, IHG Hotels, and independent boutique properties, mastering every facet of hotel operations. His early career included spearheading large-scale operational transformations, negotiating complex contracts, and implementing systems that delivered substantial cost savings—laying the groundwork for the executive leader he would become.

As Managing Director of Saint John’s Resort for over 21 years, Paul oversaw a property that became synonymous with elegance and excellence. Under his leadership, the resort consistently earned the prestigious Four Diamond AAA Award and became a premier destination for luxury accommodations, fine dining, corporate events, and high-profile weddings. Paul’s stewardship transformed the property into a celebrated gathering place, home to renowned events such as the Concours d’Elegance of America, further cementing his reputation as a leader capable of elevating a brand’s stature in competitive markets.

In 2021, Paul co-founded Boutique Hotel Professionals (BHP), where he continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer. BHP was established as the gold standard for luxury hotel and resort management, specializing in unique, independent properties that stand apart from the homogeneity of franchised hospitality. Paul’s approach—known as The BHP Way—emphasizes individuality, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of guest satisfaction. Under his guidance, BHP has become a beacon for property owners seeking to maximize investment returns while preserving the character and authenticity of their assets.

Paul’s influence extends far beyond the walls of the properties he leads. He serves in multiple high-impact industry roles, including Chairman Emeritus of the Owner’s Advisory Committee for Visit Detroit, Chairman Emeritus  for the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association, Board Trustee for the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Fund, and Co-Chairman of the AHLA Independents & Boutiques Committee. Through these positions, Paul actively shapes industry standards, advocates for hospitality professionals, and fosters collaboration among leaders nationwide.

Academically, Paul has pursued advanced credentials from Cornell University, earning multiple Masters Certificates in Financial Management, Strategic Leadership, and Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management. This academic foundation complements his practical expertise, enabling him to make data-driven decisions that balance profitability with long-term brand health. He also holds the Certified Hotel Administrator designation and certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, underscoring his multifaceted knowledge of the hospitality industry.

Paul’s professional ethos is deeply informed by his belief in the power of relationships—whether with guests, staff, business partners, or the communities he serves. He has consistently championed workplace cultures that inspire loyalty, empower employees, and foster innovation. His teams are known for their dedication, high performance, and alignment with a shared vision of exceptional service.

Beyond his professional achievements, Paul’s life is enriched by personal passions, including biking and kayaking, which reflect his appreciation for balance and well-being. His experiences in Mexico and other international settings have broadened his perspective, adding a global dimension to his leadership style. These interests underscore his belief that curiosity, exploration, and personal growth are essential to sustaining professional excellence.

Paul has also contributed to the hospitality conversation through media engagements, including articles in the Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association publication and guest appearances on podcasts focused on boutique hotels. His voice is one of authority and authenticity, shaped by decades of hands-on experience and strategic oversight.

Today, Paul remains committed to serving on both corporate and nonprofit boards, where his insights into leadership, operations, financial strategy, and brand positioning can make a transformative impact.
