“If I’m not learning or teaching, what am I here for.”
Paul M. Tetrick is an accomplished executive with more than 35 years of experience guiding complex operations, leading multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing high-stakes projects in the energy, construction, and utilities sectors. His professional journey demonstrates a rare combination of technical expertise, operational precision, and strategic leadership. With a career rooted in nuclear power operations and expanded into large-scale data center construction management, Paul embodies the qualities of a resilient leader who thrives at the intersection of innovation, safety, and organizational excellence.
Paul began his professional path in the United States Navy, where he attended the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power School and served aboard the U.S.S. Virginia as a 2nd Class Machinist Mate. This early experience instilled in him a discipline and rigor that would shape the rest of his career. Working in one of the world’s most demanding technical environments taught him the critical importance of procedure, safety, and teamwork. These lessons became foundational pillars of his leadership style and his approach to every role thereafter.
Following his service, Paul joined Nebraska Public Power District’s Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS), where he would dedicate more than three decades of his career. His time at CNS was marked by steady progression through increasingly responsible leadership roles. From Station Operator and Reactor Operator to Senior Reactor Operator and ultimately Operations Manager, Paul became a trusted steward of nuclear plant operations, managing personnel, complex scheduling systems, and operational safety at the highest levels of accountability. His contributions consistently prioritized the health and safety of employees and the surrounding community while ensuring efficient, reliable energy production.
A defining period of Paul’s career came with his selection as a loaned executive to the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO). There, he served as a Senior Evaluator in maintenance and work management, as well as a Senior Station Analyst responsible for oversight across 16 nuclear sites. This national-level role expanded his perspective beyond a single facility, allowing him to benchmark best practices, lead comprehensive evaluations, and influence corrective actions across the nuclear industry. His work reinforced his reputation as a leader who could bridge technical mastery with strategic foresight, advancing organizational standards across a highly regulated sector.
At Cooper Nuclear Station, Paul also excelled as Work Control Manager and Work Week Manager, where he was responsible for long-range reliability planning, outage scheduling, and the coordination of maintenance activities across departments. His leadership contributed to measurable improvements in performance indicators and operational reliability. He became known not only for his technical acumen but also for his ability to mentor and develop employees, empowering future leaders in an industry where precision and accountability are paramount.
In 2023, Paul transitioned into a new challenge as Project Director at Fulcrum Reliability Systems. In this role, he oversaw the quality assurance and quality control functions for the construction of multiple large-scale data center projects across the United States. His responsibilities included contract negotiations, change order processing, team management, and on-site training. Leading a team of up to 20 professionals, Paul brought the same level of rigor and oversight to the construction sector that he had refined in nuclear power operations. During his tenure, he achieved certification as a Commissioning Authority (CxA), further enhancing his ability to ensure quality and compliance on technically complex projects.
Throughout his career, Paul has complemented his technical and managerial achievements with a commitment to continuous professional development. He has completed numerous leadership programs, including the INPO Emerging Nuclear Leadership Seminar, supervisory training programs, and MARC Training. His certifications, such as the NRC Senior Reactor Operator License and the AABC Commissioning Authority credential, demonstrate a lifelong dedication to expanding his capabilities and maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence.
Paul’s influence extends beyond his professional roles into his community. He has served as Chairman of the Congregation at Trinity Lutheran Church and on the board of directors of the Auburn Country Club, where he was president for three years. These experiences reflect his belief that leadership is not confined to the workplace but is equally vital in fostering strong, supportive communities. His personal interests, such as woodworking and spending time with his family, further highlight his values of craftsmanship, care, and connection.
Paul has gained international exposure through professional experiences with personnel in the Mediterranean, Romania, and Slovakia. This global perspective reinforces his ability to adapt to different cultural and operational environments, a valuable trait in today’s interconnected business landscape. While his work has primarily centered on the United States, these experiences contribute to his holistic worldview and broaden his ability to guide organizations navigating international complexities.
At the heart of Paul’s career is a simple yet profound philosophy: if he is not learning or teaching, he is not fulfilling his purpose. This motto reflects both his humility and his dedication to growth—his own and that of the people and organizations he serves. As he continues to pursue opportunities to serve on corporate and nonprofit boards, Paul offers a rare combination of deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His career is a testament to the power of disciplined leadership and the enduring value of aligning personal principles with professional impact.
