During his time as First Selectman, Mark spearheaded numerous transformative projects that significantly enhanced the East Lyme community. Under his leadership, the town successfully rebuilt a one-mile shoreline boardwalk, redeveloped a Brownfield property into a vibrant Main Street park, constructed a new 30,000-square-foot Public Safety Building, renovated three elementary schools, expanded commercial development opportunities including the addition of Costco, increased preserved open space, and substantially strengthened the town’s financial reserves. His ability to balance fiscal responsibility with community development demonstrated his strategic mindset and operational effectiveness in highly visible leadership roles.
