Recovery priorities included restoration of the community’s drinking-water infrastructure, planning related to wastewater and sewer needs, transportation and road improvements, rebuilding resources, and efforts to make the community more resilient to future wildfire threats. Laura carried that disaster-recovery experience into Butte County, where she served as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer from February 2020 through March 2021. Her work included leadership associated with the county’s Hazard Tree Removal Program and coordination with agencies including the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.
