Landis Jackson is a Fractional HR Leader and Board Director whose career reflects more than two decades of advancing organizational capability, governance strength, and people strategy across multiple industries. Her work is defined by a steadfast commitment to aligning human capital with business imperatives, cultivating workplace cultures where people feel a sense of belonging, and enabling leadership teams to navigate growth and complexity with clarity. Recognized for her strategic mindset and purpose-driven approach, Landis brings a rare blend of academic insight, corporate experience, and governance acumen to every organization she supports.

Throughout her career, Landis has guided executive teams through times of transformation, scale, and cultural recalibration. As Casual Instructor to Program Chair  within the Chiu School of Business at Bow Valley College, she oversaw the development and delivery of Human Resources programs designed to meet evolving industry standards and employer expectations. Her leadership ensured alignment with the CPHR Alberta Competency Framework and strengthened instructional quality through thoughtful coaching, curriculum innovation, and cross-functional collaboration. Her ability to translate real-world HR challenges into meaningful academic experiences has influenced the next generation of HR professionals and expanded the province’s future talent pipeline.

Landis’ tenure at Bow Valley College was marked by her skill in navigating uncertainty. Through the pandemic and its aftermath, she led a team of 17 instructors across seven delivery modalities, maintaining both program cohesion and student retention during a time of unprecedented change. Her vision for modern HR education included embedding compliance-based applied learning and strengthening partnerships with business hosts to provide students with authentic industry engagement. Her leadership earned her the 2024 College Values Award of Excellence and recognition as a trusted thought partner across the institution.

In the corporate sector, Landis built her reputation as a strategic and influential HR executive. Her work at EFW Radiology, Imaging Dynamics,  and GWL Realty Advisors positioned her at the center of organizational transformation, workforce strategy, and leadership development. She helped guide organizations through change whether it was  culture renewal, operational restructuring, talent acquisition evolution, and workforce sustainability initiatives. Whether supporting 70 employees in a plant environment or advising leadership teams scaling operations across North America and Asia Pacific regions, Landis demonstrated an unwavering capacity to assess organizational needs and implement solutions that were both realistic and people-centered.

Her contributions also extend beyond the workplace. As a member of the Board of Directors for CPHR Alberta, she brings governance discipline and human capital insight to strategic planning, policy oversight, organizational risk management, board recruitment, and CEO support. Her board service demonstrates her ability to think systemically, challenge assumptions, and ask questions to ensure the strategic plan is considered at the highest levels of decision-making. In every board role, Landis applies the same values she brings to her operational leadership: curiosity, accountability, inclusivity, and a commitment to the long-term success of people and organizations.

Landis is also known for her dynamic presence as a facilitator, public speaker, and mentor. Through the Talent Pool Society, she has delivered 20+ workshops to job seekers across diverse professional backgrounds, helping them rethink their approach to employability, interviewing, compensation, and career navigation. Her ability to simplify complex HR and market concepts, combined with her genuine interest in helping individuals succeed, has made her a valued resource within the community. Many participants describe her guidance as transformative, practical, and empowering.

Her leadership philosophy is built on the belief that people—and the systems designed to support them—must be connected to organizational purpose. This perspective shaped her commentary in the Calgary Chamber of Commerce’s feature article “5 Essential HR Tips for Small Business Owners,” where she shared insights on onboarding, culture, development, alignment, and productivity. Landis champions environments where employees feel valued and engaged, and where clarity of expectations enables both confidence and accountability. Her work continually reinforces the importance of early connection, structured communication, and meaningful development opportunities as foundational to retention and performance.

With a Master of Education from the University of Alberta, Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation, SHRM-SCP certification, and recent completion of the Certified Leadership Coach program, Landis embodies lifelong learning. She brings academic rigor to her consulting practice while maintaining the agility and real-world mindset essential for supporting growing and transitioning organizations. Her diverse industry experience—from health services and education to manufacturing, financial services, and technology—enables her to quickly understand organizational context and customize solutions that drive measurable outcomes.

A committed volunteer and community contributor, Landis has spent years mentoring HR professionals, supporting post-secondary alumni initiatives, and giving back through arts and cultural organizations. Her passion for connection, growth, and service is also reflected in her personal pursuits. She enjoys hiking, golfing, cooking, and continuously seeking experiences that fuel learning and perspective—qualities she brings to every client, classroom, and boardroom.

Today, Landis continues to expand her fractional HR practice, partnering with organizations that require strategic people leadership without the need for a full-time executive. Whether advising on governance, culture, talent management, or organizational change, she offers a steady presence grounded in experience, vision, and a genuine commitment to helping leaders unlock both potential and performance.
