Leading more than 40 faculty and staff, she stewarded a $4 million budget, supported seven bachelor’s programs and over 15 workforce degrees, and nurtured a community where belonging and innovation were central priorities. Under her leadership, program fill rates rose from 82% to 97%, new degree pathways were launched in high-demand fields, and major cybersecurity initiatives—funded through the Department of Defense and VICEROY grants—were implemented to expand opportunities for underrepresented students.
At Columbia Basin College, Kyle also built inclusive practices into the heart of academic operations. She advanced DEIA-centered hiring processes, redesigned curriculum to reflect diverse perspectives, and created experiential learning pipelines that strengthened employability and career readiness. In her newest chapter as Director of the Center of Excellence for Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Kyle provides statewide leadership that connects 34 community and technical colleges with Washington’s critical workforce needs. In this role, she serves as a bridge linking higher education, public agencies, and industry to build strong, inclusive pathways in homeland security, emergency management, cybersecurity, and public safety. Her strategic coordination strengthens statewide resilience, supports professional development initiatives, and enhances the education-to-career pipeline for thousands of students across Washington.
