“I’m not successful unless others are.”
From his earliest days as an engineer at Acxiom and the Southwest Power Pool, Kevin Moran has built a career defined by a rare blend of technical mastery, visionary leadership, and deep dedication to empowering others. With nearly three decades of professional experience spanning energy, utilities, data management, analytics, and emerging technologies, Kevin has consistently transformed organizations by aligning innovation with strategy. His journey is not merely a story of professional milestones, but one of relentless curiosity, collaborative spirit, and the conviction that true success is measured in the growth and achievement of those around him.
Kevin’s professional path began after earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arkansas. His academic foundation equipped him with not only the technical expertise but also the discipline to approach problems with rigor and creativity. At Acxiom, he enhanced software for postal address standardization and developed user interfaces to streamline large-scale data processing. These early experiences cemented his interest in data as both a strategic asset and a powerful driver of business transformation.
In 1997, Kevin transitioned into the energy sector as an Engineer II at Southwest Power Pool. Here, he deepened his understanding of electric utilities, serving as both a database and application administrator for complex energy management systems. This role provided him with firsthand exposure to the critical infrastructure that powers communities, igniting a passion for operational excellence in industries fundamental to society’s progress. His work laid the foundation for a career that would bridge engineering, business strategy, and executive leadership.
Kevin’s next chapter unfolded at L’Oréal, where he held various IT and leadership positions, culminating as Director of Enterprise Information Warehouse. Over nearly nine years, he spearheaded SAP data integration and business intelligence initiatives that enabled the company to harness data in new, strategic ways. His ability to lead cross-functional teams across a global organization showcased his capacity to scale technology solutions for consumer-facing industries while driving cost efficiency and performance improvements. This phase of his career revealed his adaptability and skill in translating technical concepts into business value at the highest levels.
His return to the energy sector at OGE Energy Corp. marked a pivotal expansion of his leadership responsibilities. As Solutions Delivery Manager and later as a consultant, Kevin led initiatives that modernized enterprise data practices, from implementing geospatial visualization projects that reduced operational costs to advancing BI maturity across the organization. His expertise in data governance and enterprise architecture positioned him as a trusted advisor for business and IT leaders seeking to integrate advanced analytics into decision-making. Kevin also guided the development of data integration platforms and project portfolio management systems, aligning technological innovation with the strategic imperatives of a major utility.
The years that followed further established Kevin as a leader at the intersection of data and strategy. At Devon Energy, he designed strategies to scale analytics capabilities, delivering real-time platforms for drilling and completions that unlocked significant cost savings. At CNX, he directed teams in operations technology, introducing new self-service reporting platforms and executive dashboards that increased visibility and efficiency. His work in these roles demonstrated a consistent theme: empowering organizations to become data-driven, not only by implementing tools but by fostering cultures that embrace analytics as a competitive advantage.
Kevin’s tenure at KPMG and Accenture amplified his influence across multiple industries. At KPMG, he served as Manager of Advisory Services in Data and Analytics, where he delivered governance frameworks, managed sensitive national banking data, and built target operating models for technology clients. At Accenture, he became a leader in AI and large language model architecture, helping organizations modernize their data strategies across utilities, financial services, and global quick-service restaurants. He led transformative workshops, advised on cloud migrations, and spearheaded mainframe modernization, consistently delivering measurable outcomes that advanced client objectives. These roles highlighted his ability to operate at the cutting edge of technology while guiding large-scale transformations for world-class organizations.
Today, Kevin continues this trajectory as Manager of Data, AI, and Engineering at KPMG US while also serving as co-owner of Mr. Electric® of Little Rock, a business he operates with his wife. This entrepreneurial endeavor reflects his commitment to community and his belief in bringing professionalism, integrity, and excellence to the services that power everyday life. His dual focus—supporting Fortune 500 clients in digital transformation while building trust in his local community—embodies his holistic view of leadership as both a global and personal responsibility.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kevin is deeply committed to mentoring and developing others. He has spoken at industry conferences, including utility and oil & gas consortiums, where he shared insights into emerging technologies and operational strategies. His affiliations with organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce of Little Rock and the Harvard Business Review group on LinkedIn underscore his dedication to continuous learning and networking. Personally, he finds joy in the outdoors, from hiking and fishing to hunting, and is passionate about supporting his children’s sports pursuits. These activities reflect his belief in balance, community, and the importance of nurturing the next generation.
