    Prior to his tenure at FGS, Joe held key leadership positions at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the largest single electric utility in the United States. As Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President from 1994 to 1998, he spearheaded initiatives to enhance non-nuclear electric generation, transmission, and power supply operations, achieving significant improvements in fossil plant availability and generation costs.

    Before his role at TVA, Joe served in various executive capacities at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), where he played instrumental roles in enhancing operational efficiency and reliability across fossil and nuclear power generation units. His efforts were recognized with prestigious awards, including the Deming Prize, reflecting his commitment to excellence and quality management practices.

    Joe’s contributions extend beyond the corporate realm, as evidenced by his active involvement in volunteer boards and professional affiliations. He holds licenses as a Professional Engineer in Tennessee and Florida and has been honored with numerous awards, including the Ishikawa Medal and the President’s Quality Award.
