John most recently served as President and Co-Owner of Reyco Granning LLC, a manufacturer of suspension systems for heavy vehicles. During his tenure from 2014 to 2023, he redefined the company’s value proposition by launching the Engineering Services Division, gaining prestigious clients such as Tesla and Hyzon Motors, and overseeing the acquisition of a strategically critical RV suspension product line. By the end of his presidency, more than 30% of company revenue came from products developed under his leadership—clear evidence of his forward-thinking approach to portfolio expansion and product lifecycle management. John’s strategic insight also proved critical during Reyco’s acquisition, where he transitioned into an Advisory Board Member role, helping to guide the company through a successful divestiture.

John’s earlier leadership experience includes critical roles at International Motors and Hendrickson International, where he led engineering and product development teams focused on chassis, suspension, powertrain, and advanced vehicle systems. He served as Chief Technical Engineer for Suspension & Steering at International Motors and held progressively senior roles at Hendrickson, including Business Unit Manager and Sr. Engineering Manager for Product Development and Validation. His career also included a period as CFO of his family’s franchise business, where he executed a successful 10-store acquisition—demonstrating his versatility across finance, strategy, and operations.

His leadership extends to corporate governance, having served on the Board of Directors at MSW, Inc. from 2017 to 2020. During this time, John was instrumental in guiding the company through a multi-year leadership transition. His governance and advisory expertise reflect his ability to manage not only technical challenges but also organizational transformation.

John is also a prolific innovator, holding 20 U.S. patents in suspension, cab-access, fuel, and exhaust system technologies. He is a published author and four-time featured speaker at global automotive conferences, including Suspension Systems USA, Suspension Systems Europe, and Steering Systems USA. His technical leadership was also recognized through roles such as Co-Chair of the SAE ComVEC Chassis and Suspension Committee.

Beyond his executive achievements, John is a dedicated automotive historian and restoration expert. He has invested more than 3,000 hours restoring classic European automobiles through his work at Cooper Technica, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum, and personal projects. Currently restoring a 1962 Fiat 1200, John also holds shares in the restoration of several rare vintage vehicles, including a 1937 Delage D8-120 and a 1943 Alfa Romeo 6C2500. He serves on the museum’s Collection Conservation Team and is a Patron Member, actively involved in fundraising and heritage initiatives. He is also a proud member of the FUEL Social Club, a regional network for automotive enthusiasts.
