Prior to establishing his consultancy, Joe served as President of Professional Services at UNFI/SuperValu, where he led strategic operations for over 1,000 employees across eight national divisions. Joe’s leadership journey includes pivotal roles at Unified Grocers, where he served as Executive Vice President and later as President of Market Centre. During his tenure, he held full P&L responsibility, oversaw company-wide investment strategies, and developed new market expansion initiatives. Additionally, he successfully launched a wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to specialty, natural, organic, and ethnic foods—demonstrating his ability to anticipate and respond to consumer trends.
His earlier career saw him leading operations as Northern California President of Unified Grocers and directing sales for Nally’s Fine Foods, where he managed a $350 million portfolio across major retail chains. He began his career at E&J Gallo Winery, where he built a strong foundation in sales, distribution, and brand management.
