Jeffrey Miller is an accomplished executive with almost three decades of experience in working with boards of directors from start-up innovators to large, international conglomerates on governance, risk management, compliance, and legal matters. Serving as the Director-in-Charge at Granite Governance, Risk and Compliance, LLC and Senior Counsel and Chair of Information Privacy and Security at Saxton & Stump since February 2020, Jeffrey brings an extensive track record of leadership in both the private and public sectors, with focuses on healthcare services, medical devices and biotech companies, pharmaceuticals and heath technologies. With a distinguished career spanning several prominent national and international organizations, Jeffrey has consistently demonstrated expertise in navigating risks in complex legal and regulatory frameworks while ensuring organizational integrity, growth and success.
Prior to founding Granite Governance, Jeffrey held senior roles as General Counsel, Director of Compliance and Privacy at DermOne, LLC, where he helped to develop and lead a growth-stage multi-state health care provider. Jeff has also served as Vice President, Global Compliance Officer, at Biomet 3i and DePuy Synthes, Companies of Johnson & Johnson, where he oversaw the execution of corporate compliance and privacy programs for global operations. As Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer and Counsel at Synthes, Inc. Jeffrey played a pivotal role in leading initiatives to develop and strengthen compliance frameworks across diverse international markets with an emphasis on compliance effectiveness, operational speed and efficiency, and customer focus. His leadership extended to representing his companies before the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as other U.S. Federal and state agencies including HHS OIG, HHS OCR, CMS and FDA, negotiating and managing complex corporate integrity agreements and deferred prosecution agreements, and managing high-profile compliance investigations. His ability to combine legal acumen with a comprehensive understanding of business operations has made him a trusted advisor in the healthcare and life sciences industries.
In addition to his professional roles, Jeffrey has been deeply involved in academia and professional organizations, serving as adjunct Professor at Villanova University’s Charles Widger School of Law since 2019, imparting his knowledge of health law and operations to the next generation of legal professionals. He is a member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, among others. Jeffrey earned his Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from The Pennsylvania State University, Smeal College of Business Administration, and his Juris Doctor from Widener University, Commonwealth Law School. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and has authored numerous articles on legal and compliance matters, demonstrating his thought leadership in the field.
