    Jim Felds is an industry-leading financing, transaction, and turnaround consultant based in Vero Beach, FL. With a career spanning several decades, he has established himself as a premier relationship builder, project completion driver, and value creator.

     Jim is known for his grounded yet rapidly progressing career, consistently delivering goal-exceeding credit performance, client service excellence, and team member engagement.

    As the Founder and Managing Principal of Focustar Capital Group, LLC and Focustar Advisory Services, LLC since September 2006, Jim leverages his extensive financial and operational experience to provide consultative guidance across various industries. 

    His expertise lies in qualifying client needs, restructuring projects and corporate business planning, especially during times of unexpected business stress or credit challenges. Jim has a proven track record of influencing and negotiating successful transaction closures.

    Jim serves on the Advisory Boards of Carnaby Clubs, LLC and On the Run Oil Change, LLC and has helped Carnaby launch their first location, is an investor, and continues to serve on their Board.  At On The Run, he turned the company around from negative cash flow to positive cash flow within three months and now advises the company on its efforts to sell its franchises.  

    Jim has served as an interim CFO for a $20M coffee roaster, leading to a successful recapitalization and restructuring. He spearheaded turnarounds for multiple auto dealerships, optimizing sales channels and financing alternatives to enhance profitability. His accomplishments include navigating complex transactions, such as a $65 million deal with the Venezuelan state-owned oil company and the restructuring of a $41 million HUD-backed loan in North Carolina.

    At Focustar Mortgage, LLC (September 2006 – December 2010), Jim founded and grew a mortgage company, managing the origination and processing of residential loans in compliance with banking and lending regulations. Earlier, as the Branch Manager at Intracoastal Mortgage (September 2004 – September 2006), he led the branch to become a multi-million-dollar mortgage loan entity.

    Jim’s career includes roles as a Licensed Mortgage Broker at NorthStar Discount Mortgage, LLC, and a successful tenure as Founder and President of EverGreen Rooms by Hartford, Inc. eventually negotiating the sale of the company to an NYSE listed firm. In the auto industry, he served as a General Manager and Turnaround Specialist for various dealerships including the largest Mercedes Benz-BMW dealership east of the Mississippi river.

    Apart from his business acumen, Jim is a professional keyboardist, arranger, composer, bandleader, recording artist, and artist’s manager in the music industry. He has also contributed to the community as a Non-Profit Synagogue President and Board Chairman for four years.

    Jim Felds is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and holds a USCG Master’s License. His diverse educational background includes coursework toward a Bachelor of Science degree, making him a well-rounded professional with a deep understanding of financial strategies and market trends.
