His extensive product knowledge includes group life and disability, dental, vision, critical illness, and accident insurance, making him a versatile and accomplished professional in the industry.
Most recently serving as Vice President of Risk Management at USAble Life, James demonstrated exceptional leadership by spearheading end-to-end operations for supplemental life and disability actuarial functions. His strategic approach encompassed pricing, valuation, experience reporting, and data analytics. In his role, he served as Chair of the Risk Management Committee, led Enterprise Risk Management initiatives, and regularly reported to the board of directors. James played a pivotal role in integrating the LifeMap and USAble Life legacy teams, ensuring a seamless merger that fortified operational efficiency and enhanced partner relationships.
James’s tenure at LifeMap Assurance Company further underscores his transformative leadership abilities. As Vice President of Risk Management, he guided the Underwriting and Risk Management department through a period of significant growth while increasing profitability. His efforts to streamline actuarial and underwriting functions, coupled with his ability to lead data-driven risk assessments, turned financial losses into gains while expanding the company’s business portfolio. Notably, James managed critical legal and finance functions and strategic planning, while serving as the company’s Appointed Actuary.
