“Making the world better every day, one interaction at a time.”
Dr. Kimberly C. Tyskiewicz is an accomplished educator, administrator, and systems innovator whose career spans over 30 years in the fields of education, organizational leadership, and public service. With a passion for creating equitable, efficient, and inclusive environments, she has led large-scale transformation efforts across school districts, educational institutions, and most recently, in a regional leadership role with the United Farm Workers. Bilingual in Spanish and seasoned with international experience in Mexico, France, Spain, and Italy, Dr. Tyskiewicz brings global awareness and cultural fluency to every role she undertakes.
Kim’s ability to both lead and manage is what sets her apart. She builds cohesive, data-driven systems that deliver results without sacrificing integrity or empathy. Whether directing $55 million budgets, implementing multi-district summer learning programs, or managing stakeholder engagement across diverse communities, she thrives in complexity and turns challenges into scalable solutions. A strategic thinker and relentless problem solver, she has designed restorative justice systems, early college high school programs, and effective staff development platforms used across Oregon and beyond.
Her leadership journey began in the classroom, where she spent 29 years as a teacher and adjunct professor. As an educator, she inspired excellence, teaching over 40 students at a time in rigorous College Now and Advanced Placement programs. She later took on leadership roles at Greenways Academy, North Wasco County School District, and Gresham-Barlow School District, designing and overseeing innovative academic programs for thousands of K–12 students, while mentoring educators in instructional strategies, equity practices, and data-driven teaching.
Kim has earned the trust and admiration of her peers and colleagues throughout her career. She is often described as visionary, collaborative, and deeply ethical. Her peers praise her for revamping underperforming systems, increasing credit recovery rates, launching new schools from the ground up, and leading transformative negotiations as a labor-management coordinator. She has served as Equity Cadre Leader, program director, district liaison, and systems evaluator—roles that required nuance, negotiation, and a clear moral compass.
Beyond education, Dr. Tyskiewicz is now applying her leadership talents in the nonprofit and labor space. As Regional Director for the United Farm Workers in the Pacific Northwest, she oversees contract administration, staffing, membership growth, recruitment, and stakeholder engagement. Her ability to scale systems, manage diverse teams, and advocate for underserved populations translates seamlessly into any industry.
A natural communicator, Kim has presented at state and national conferences on topics such as labor-management collaboration, effective instruction, and transformational leadership. Her work has been profiled in numerous articles, and her commitment to community engagement has earned her a seat at critical tables of decision-making. She is also a seasoned grant writer and evaluator, with extensive experience in overseeing federal and state-funded initiatives like CLASS and TIF.
Dr. Tyskiewicz’s educational credentials include a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University, along with advanced administrative licenses from Willamette University and George Fox University. She holds multiple state certifications and has served as an adjunct professor at Portland State University and Oregon State University, teaching graduate-level courses in data analysis, decision-making, and leadership.
With a personal mission of “making the world better every day, one interaction at a time,” Kimberly combines resilience with compassion. Her personal experiences with situational poverty and cultural immersion have given her a unique lens into equity and human connection. She leads not from a pedestal but from the trenches, building systems that lift others while modeling integrity and transparency.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Kimberly enjoys trivia, cooking, and painting—creative outlets that mirror her ability to blend logic and imagination in her leadership. Though she is not currently active on any boards, she brings prior school board experience and is ready to take her insights, drive, and collaborative spirit into advisory roles that will shape the next generation of leaders and institutions.
Now entering a new phase of her life, Dr. Tyskiewicz is seeking board opportunities where she can share her knowledge, support productivity, and foster growth. With time, education, and energy to give, she is eager to contribute to organizations that value ethical leadership, strategic planning, and systems thinking.
