Diana Erani is a highly accomplished healthcare executive with more than three decades of experience leading mission-driven organizations through operational transformation, public health innovation, and strategic growth. Throughout her distinguished career, she has combined executive leadership with a deep understanding of healthcare delivery, health information technology, quality improvement, and organizational management to strengthen healthcare systems and improve patient outcomes. Her ability to bridge clinical operations, data analytics, technology, and executive strategy has established her as a respected leader capable of guiding organizations through complex challenges while remaining steadfastly focused on equitable access to quality healthcare.

Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), Diana plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to promote population health equity through leadership, advocacy, and programs that empower community health centers nationwide. In this executive capacity, she oversees operational excellence across a national organization dedicated to supporting healthcare providers that serve millions of patients. Her leadership reflects a unique ability to align organizational strategy with operational execution, ensuring that healthcare organizations remain responsive, innovative, and financially sustainable while never losing sight of the communities they serve.

Prior to joining NACHC, Diana spent more than a decade with the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, where she steadily advanced through increasingly influential leadership roles, including Director of the Health Center Controlled Network, Vice President of Health Informatics, and ultimately Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President. During her tenure, she led statewide initiatives supporting approximately fifty community health centers caring for nearly one million patients. She successfully directed healthcare analytics, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, population health initiatives, and operational support programs that enabled organizations to leverage data-driven decision-making while improving clinical outcomes and patient care.

One of Diana’s greatest strengths lies in her expertise at integrating healthcare operations with information technology. Throughout her career, she has championed the effective use of electronic health records, healthcare analytics, quality reporting, and population health management tools to improve organizational performance and patient outcomes. Her leadership has helped organizations optimize clinical workflows, strengthen care coordination, support payment reform initiatives, and implement sophisticated data systems that translate information into measurable improvements in healthcare quality. Her experience demonstrates that technology is most valuable when paired with thoughtful leadership and a deep understanding of patient-centered care.

Earlier in her career, Diana served as Chief Operating Officer for Healthcare for the Homeless–Houston, a federally qualified health center affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine. There, she directed the operations of multiple healthcare sites delivering integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, psychiatric, pharmacy, outreach, and social service programs to vulnerable populations experiencing homelessness. Managing complex multidisciplinary teams while overseeing clinical operations, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and patient services further strengthened her reputation as a compassionate executive capable of balancing operational efficiency with mission-focused leadership. Her efforts earned recognition from Baylor College of Medicine for outstanding clinical leadership and her role in achieving Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition.

Diana’s career also includes valuable experience across healthcare consulting, physician practice management, quality management, academic instruction, and federal government service. As a Project Manager with the United States Government Accountability Office, she evaluated federal programs, developed recommendations for Congress, and worked collaboratively with agencies to improve operational effectiveness and accountability. She later applied those analytical and strategic skills within healthcare organizations, consulting on diabetes quality management, leading specialty medical practices, managing strategic initiatives for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, and teaching International Marketing at Boston University. These diverse experiences have given her an unusually broad perspective that spans policy, operations, finance, technology, and organizational leadership.

In addition to her executive accomplishments, Diana has contributed meaningfully to healthcare research and thought leadership. She has co-authored peer-reviewed publications focused on electronic health record systems, chronic disease surveillance, healthcare data sharing, hypertension management, and community-engaged research. Her work has appeared in respected publications including the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, the American Journal of Public Health, and Social Science & Medicine. These scholarly contributions reflect her commitment to evidence-based decision-making and demonstrate her ability to translate healthcare data into actionable strategies that improve both policy and patient care.

Board leadership has been a consistent element throughout Diana’s professional journey. She currently serves on the boards of Capital Link and the School-Based Health Alliance while having contributed to numerous boards and committees throughout her career. Her extensive governance experience, combined with executive leadership across nonprofit organizations, healthcare associations, and federally qualified health centers, provides her with a comprehensive understanding of fiduciary responsibility, organizational oversight, strategic planning, and executive partnership. Diana is particularly interested in serving organizations seeking leaders who understand both the operational realities and strategic opportunities within today’s evolving healthcare landscape.

Beyond her professional achievements, Diana values lifelong learning, collaboration, and service. She enjoys cooking and traveling, pursuits that reflect both her curiosity and appreciation for diverse cultures and experiences. Colleagues consistently describe her as approachable, thoughtful, optimistic, and deeply committed to helping others succeed. Whether leading organizational transformation, mentoring future healthcare leaders, or working alongside interdisciplinary teams, Diana believes that meaningful progress is built through collaboration, integrity, and a shared commitment to improving lives.
