Consulting & Advisement – Healthcare, Nonprofits, and Faith-Based Organizations

Bruce Fielding is a healthcare transformation leader with more than four decades of experience guiding complex organizations through strategic, operational, and technological change. His career spans clinical environments, health systems, managed care organizations, and healthcare technology, where he has consistently bridged strategy and execution to improve both organizational performance and patient outcomes.

Bruce has extensive experience working with and within nonprofit organizations across healthcare, mental health, and faith-based sectors. His work is guided by two core commitments: advancing organizational mission and maintaining the highest standards of financial stewardship and operational accountability. He also works closely with boards and executive teams to resolve complex process and interpersonal challenges while strengthening governance and leadership alignment.

Throughout his career, Bruce has led enterprise-level transformation initiatives including digital modernization, PMO development, clinical operations optimization, accreditation readiness, and large-scale system implementations. His leadership style emphasizes transparency, stakeholder alignment, and disciplined execution—bringing together executives, clinicians, and operational teams to deliver sustainable change.

Most recently, Bruce served as Senior Project Manager for both Kern Health Systems and Gold Coast Health Plan, where he led initiatives supporting NCQA Health Plan Accreditation, Health Equity Accreditation, and CalAIM alignment. His work included coordinating enterprise documentation, managing survey readiness, developing remediation strategies, and strengthening regulatory compliance.

Bruce has also implemented national-level financial control and governance frameworks for complex healthcare organizations, establishing systems that improve financial transparency, operational discipline, and regulatory compliance across multi-location enterprises.

Earlier in his career, Bruce served as Senior Program Manager and Innovation Co-Lead at multiple healthcare organizations. In these roles, he managed portfolios of innovation initiatives with budgets up to $5 million. His work included designing a new clinical call center model, implementing Salesforce to improve case management, launching telemedicine programs for underserved Medicare populations, and developing advanced data protocols to support care delivery.

His previous leadership roles include positions with Kaiser Permanente, SynerMed, Telecare Corporation, VelocIT, and Park Health Systems, where he led major initiatives ranging from national financial control implementations and claims systems development to enterprise data migrations, security infrastructure deployment, and PMO expansion. His clients have included VISA, Franklin Templeton, Kaiser, Cedars-Sinai, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, USC Health, Western Dental Services, Blue Shield, as well as many others.

Bruce’s leadership perspective is shaped by his early career as a Marriage & Family Therapist and CEO of a non-profit community mental health system. This background informs his human-centered approach to organizational transformation, emphasizing that sustainable change occurs when people, processes, and purpose are aligned.

Today Bruce works as an independent consultant and advisor focused on healthcare innovation, operational modernization, and program leadership. He is particularly interested in helping organizations integrate emerging technologies—including AI—into systems that improve care delivery, reduce costs, and expand access for vulnerable populations.

Bruce holds a Master’s degree in Social Science (Counseling) and is recognized for translating complex challenges into practical strategies that organizations can execute. He is now expanding his work into board and advisory roles so he can help organizations clarify mission, strengthen governance, and guide transformative growth.
