Brian Midyett is a dynamic and seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience leading large-scale, complex design-build and infrastructure projects across the construction, manufacturing, aviation, and marine industries. As President of STG Pacific LLC, based in Anchorage, Alaska, Brian has established himself as a respected leader known for his strategic thinking, operational excellence, and ability to deliver mission-critical projects on time and within budget.
Throughout his distinguished career, Brian has managed a diverse portfolio of federal and private sector projects—from educational and commercial facilities to oil and gas field infrastructure and secure government installations. His hallmark is a cradle-to-grave delivery model, ensuring complete oversight and quality from concept through completion. With a reputation for innovation, value engineering, and building “the right project at the right price,” Brian has consistently found out-of-the-box solutions to solve complex logistical and technical challenges in some of the most demanding environments.
Before leading STG Pacific, Brian held senior leadership roles with organizations at CH2M HILL, and Kiewit Pacific Co. In these positions, he led construction programs, developed strategic project delivery models, and oversaw major construction initiatives for multi-billion-dollar oil and gas programs, Pipeline Mega Projects, marine infrastructure, and federal installations across Alaska and beyond. His role as Senior Consultant and Director of Construction at CH2M Hill further highlighted his depth in risk management, program planning, and project estimation for high-stakes operations.
Brian studied Mechanical Engineering at Oregon Institute of Technology, and completed a carpenters apprenticeship which laid the foundation for his technical proficiency and hands-on approach to construction leadership. He also earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI (Orange County Chapter) in 2010, which remained active until 2016 and underscores his project management expertise.
Complementing his executive responsibilities, Brian is a long-time member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and is actively involved with AGC Alaska, where he has delivered presentations on construction strategy and best practices and served as the board President in 2023. He has also been featured in articles highlighting the impact and growth of STG Pacific. His past board service includes the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii, where he contributed his leadership and community-focused perspective.
Brian’s international exposure includes project work in Germany and Kuwait, further showcasing his ability to navigate diverse operational, regulatory, and cultural landscapes. While he is fluent only in English, his experience in global project environments has enhanced his adaptability and leadership on multinational teams.
Personally, Brian is passionate about sailing, diving, and aviation, pursuits that reflect his curiosity, attention to detail, and love for challenge. As he begins to transition out of full-time executive leadership and into a new chapter, Brian is actively seeking board opportunities where he can bring his expertise, mentorship, and problem-solving mindset to organizations seeking growth, transformation, or strategic oversight.
His guiding philosophy—”It’s easier to help someone succeed than to let them fail in business”—perfectly encapsulates his collaborative leadership style and commitment to driving positive outcomes.
With a rare combination of technical depth, executive insight, and field-proven leadership, Brian Midyett is an exceptional candidate for board service, ready to contribute meaningfully to mission-driven organizations navigating complexity and growth.
