Brad McBride is an accomplished finance professional with over 30 years of experience in accounting, regulatory reporting, financial analysis, and strategic planning. Brad’s career began at Mountain West Savings and Loan, where he served as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer from 1980 to 1990. During this time, he managed the accounting, treasury, and finance functions, overseeing regulatory reporting, asset liability management, internal controls, variance analysis, strategic planning, investor relations, investments, cash management, and payroll. His leadership in these areas helped solidify the organization’s financial foundation.
From 1990 to 2007, Brad continued his career at Morgan Stanley Bank, where he served as Vice President – Finance, Treasurer, and Assistant Secretary. He was pivotal in the development and distribution of Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) reporting, ensuring robust risk management processes as the ALCO chairperson. Brad also developed processes to ensure compliance with the FDICIA Internal Control Assessment, used by Morgan Stanley to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404. His contributions included preparing and distributing annual financial statements, board reports, and various regulatory filings, as well as developing and managing internal controls, corporate policies, and compliance relationships with Federal and State regulators.
Brad’s regulatory expertise was further refined during his role as Regulatory Reporting Manager at American Express, US Banking, from 2011 to 2012. He played a key role in implementing Basel II risk-weighted assets (RWA) requirements for two US Banks and facilitated the conversion from the Thrift Financial Report (TFR) to the Call Report, ensuring timely implementation and alignment with bank holding company reports. Additionally, he identified and resolved variances in Call Reports, ensuring accuracy for regulatory submission.
In more recent years, Brad has taken on significant contract positions. As Assistant Controller at Proficio Bank from 2013 to 2015, he was responsible for managing cash and borrowings, preparing key regulatory reports, and overseeing annual audits and financial statement preparation. His work ensured the bank’s regulatory compliance and solid financial reporting.
Brad has also contributed to projects as a Conversion Specialist II and Fraud Investigator with Harland Clarke, where he assisted clients in banking platform conversions, particularly with the BMO Bank acquisition of Bank of the West, and helped upgrade online banking systems for clients such as Columbia Bank and City National Bank. In addition, Brad’s expertise in fraud prevention and investigation proved invaluable in detecting fraudulent activities within financial institutions.
Most recently, Brad took on roles with Robert Half/PNC Bank in 2021-2023, performing outreach to PPP loan clients and assisting in the application process for loan forgiveness, as well as supporting the merger between BBVA and PNC Bank. He also led a team at Protiviti/Lendio, overseeing the review of Paycheck Protection Program loan applications, and handled fraud investigation tasks within the program.
Brad holds an MBA from Utah State University’s Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management, and an Associates of Applied Science in Marketing and Management from LDS Business College.
