Andrew Eil: Pioneering Climate Risk Management and Sustainable Finance

    Andrew Eil is a distinguished professional who currently serves as the Head of Climate Risk for North America at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Based in New York City, he is a valuable member of TCS’s Emerging Risks team within the Risk and Compliance Practice. Andrew possesses a wealth of expertise in climate risk, sustainable finance, strategy development, program design, and client management, all focused on the critical intersection of climate change and financial markets.

    As a published author in international environment and energy policy, climate finance, and technology transfer, Andrew has made significant contributions to the field. His skill set includes climate risk management and disclosure, sustainable finance, energy policy, climate finance, climate change adaptation and resilience, as well as climate change mitigation through energy efficiency and clean energy technologies. He is also well-versed in impact investing, climate policy, international development, and sustainable development.

    Andrew also completed a Sustainable Finance Certificate of Professional Achievement at Columbia University, focusing on operational risk management, sustainable investing, and impact finance for sustainability. He is continuously expanding his knowledge through executive education programs and certifications, including the Venture Capital and Private Equity Executive Certificate from Columbia Business School, where he further honed his skills in venture financing and private equity.

    Andrew’s impressive academic background includes an MPA in Public Affairs with a specialization in climate change and energy policy from Princeton University. Through his studies and education he also is fluent in 5 languages, including…Russian, French, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish. He furthered his education at Harvard University, earning an AB in History and Literature with a focus on Russian studies. Andrew background also includes, Partner at Climate Finance Advisors (2018-21), Coordinator for Climate Change Assistance Programs at the U.S. Department of State (2010-14), and various climate change,  development finance, and risk-related consulting engagements with the World Bank Group, Bloomberg LLC, Green Climate Fund, and UN agencies UNEP and UNDP during 2014-2021 and 2009-10.

    In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Andrew is actively involved in various volunteering and advisory roles. He is a committed advisor and supporter of Our Climate, a youth engagement and activism organization focused on climate change. He is also involved with the Global Association of Risk Professionals, where he drafts sustainability and climate risk exam questions.
