    Travis A. Detke: Leveraging Five Decades of Expertise to Drive Excellence and Innovation

    Travis A. Detke is a seasoned executive with over five decades of comprehensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Throughout his illustrious career, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, operational acumen, and a deep commitment to safety and excellence.

    Travis began his career in 1977 at Sub Sea International, where he honed his skills in various roles, including Tender, Diver, Sat Diver, Supervisor, Account Representative, Area Manager, Marine Manager, Diving Manager, and Project Estimator. His early years saw him gaining valuable international exposure, particularly in Aberdeen, Scotland, and across key locations in Louisiana.

    In 1997, Travis joined Global Divers as a Project Estimator, followed by a similar role at TransCoastal Marine Contractors. His expertise in project estimation and management led him to Cal Dive International in 2000, where he served for over a decade in various capacities, including General Manager of Surface Diving. At Cal Dive, Travis oversaw significant operations in New Iberia, LA and Houston, TX, further solidifying his reputation as a formidable leader in the industry.  His efforts contributed to an 80% decrease in decompression incidents over four years, showcasing his commitment to safety and innovation.

    In 2012, Travis transitioned to Aqueos Corporation, taking on the role of Vice President of Operations for the Gulf of Mexico. Over the next decade, he played a pivotal role in directing surface and saturation diving operations, managing an extensive team, and implementing safety and operational excellence initiatives including the implementation of ISO and IMCA certifications. In August 2022, he was appointed Vice President of Sales, where he continued to drive growth and strategic initiatives until his retirement in May 2024.

    Travis’s educational background includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honor society. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of North Dakota.

    His professional qualifications are extensive, including certifications as an IOGP Client Representative, HSE Air/Mixed Gas/Bell Sat Diver, OPITO/BOSIET Water Survival, and Dynamic Positioning Awareness. He is also holds DOT Operator Qualifications as well as various other industry-relevant certifications.

    Travis’s contributions to the industry are further highlighted by his co-holding of two patents for the design and operation of Aqueos’ DSV SPLASH™. He has served as the Chairman of the ADCI Gulf Coast Chapter for three terms, representing the GCC on the ADCI Board of Directors. Additionally, he has presented technical papers at industry symposiums and has been an active member of several advisory committees.

    Currently, Travis enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle in retirement but remains passionate about the industry. He continues to be active in professional associations such as the Dive Safety Work Group and holds a managerial and registered agent role at Aquatica, LLC.
