Stephanie Forbes is a nationally recognized value chain expert with 25 years’ experience steering multi-billion-dollar projects across Canada and the US. She leads the Forbes Group, a full-service consultancy focused on the value chain, governance, ESG best practices and reporting, as well as business optimization. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Stephanie travels extensively to meet clients’ needs.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Management Degree from the University of Lethbridge. She has studied Canadian Risk Management at the University of Calgary and holds an IMIx Executive Certificate in Governance and Ethics from the University of Toronto. Stephanie is a firm believer in continuous learning.
Stephanie has been involved with industry associations and boards of directors for a decade. She was the main instigator behind the development of the Supply Chain Excellence Forum and is currently the Interim Vice Chair for Supply Chain Canada, Alberta Institute. She has also sat on the board of directors for the Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and chaired their fund development, allowing low-income breast cancer patients the ability to ease their financial burdens and be supported throughout their cancer journey.

Stephanie’s value chain knowledge and expertise is as wide as it is deep. Throughout her career, Stephanie honed her considerable skills in every aspect of supply chain management, vendor management, and procurement activities. Her expertise lays in contract negotiation, procurement fraud, claims, and construction dispute resolution. She has implemented ERPs, is comfortable negotiating nearly anything, and has vast major projects capability. Stephanie began her career at AMEC (now Wood) on major Syncrude (now Suncor) projects where she managed complex tasks, led teams, and drove strategic initiatives to deliver on project deliverables, deadlines, and KPI’s.
Stephanie is passionate about and exceptionally skilled at complex problem solving and in developing programs and governance models for organizations such as Shell, Chevron, TC Energy, and Husky (now Cenovus) while developing best in class programs on vendor management, supply chain risk and assurance, governance and continuous improvement.
Her consulting experience is also robust. She has been instrumental in correcting value chain gaps, and she has the innate ability to see both the big picture and can drill down to ascertain specific issues and provide strategy around solving them permanently. Her integrity as a thought leader is unparalleled; her work ethic unrivaled and her calm demeanor means jobs get completed on schedule, within budget, and with a minimum of churn.
In her free time, Stephanie loves to spend time in the kitchen and is very proud of her son who just graduated from high school in Calgary. Her love of the outdoors and sports means you’ll find her on any kind of ski, in a saddle riding a big thoroughbred, or hitting the links around town.
