Phillip Donald is a results-driven executive whose professional journey has been defined by a consistent dedication to service—both in his country and in the corporate world. With more than 25 years of cross-industry leadership spanning financial services, IT, retail, and government, Phillip has earned a reputation as a versatile leader who brings clarity, strategic focus, and deep operational know-how to every role he undertakes. His professional motto—“To serve others both personally and professionally and be a positive resource to all by using the knowledge and talent I have been blessed with”—guides his actions and inspires those who work with him.

Phillip’s career began with a strong foundation in discipline and leadership through his service in the United States Marine Corps. As a Communications Center Chief and Information Systems Specialist, he supervised security-sensitive operations, supported mission-critical communications infrastructure, and led teams in both garrison and tactical environments. This military experience instilled in him not only technical prowess in managing secure networks and cryptographic systems, but also an unshakable commitment to accountability, precision, and teamwork—qualities that continue to define his professional ethos.

After completing his military service, Phillip transitioned seamlessly into the private sector, bringing with him the same rigor and strategic mindset that made him successful in the Marine Corps. He began in IT support roles at Siemens Business Services and Analyst International, where he quickly demonstrated his ability to improve system uptime, support global teams, and train users to increase productivity. His work with Lexmark International spanned multiple countries, including Canada, India, and Mexico, further expanding his global awareness and intercultural fluency.

Recognizing his potential in operations and leadership, Phillip took on progressively senior roles in the retail and service industries, eventually serving as District Manager for Speedway LLC. Over nearly a decade, he managed a network of 11 business units and more than 150 employees. Responsible for an $18 million annual budget, he built vendor partnerships, developed management teams, and improved financial performance through detailed profit and loss analysis. His approach to operations combined data-driven decision-making with an innate ability to motivate teams, creating a culture of performance and purpose.

Phillip’s operational leadership continued at Love’s Travel Stops, where he served as Operations Manager. In this role, he was entrusted with managing multiple business units and an annual budget of $12 million. His efforts centered on business development, employee development, and customer service excellence. Under his leadership, performance metrics consistently placed his teams in the top quartile of the company. His strength in building scalable systems and nurturing high-performing teams became a hallmark of his leadership style.

In 2017, Phillip transitioned into the financial services industry, becoming a Senior Retirement Plan Advisor at ShareBuilder 401k. Here, he found an ideal platform to combine his strengths in strategic planning, financial analysis, and client relationship management. He has since provided expert guidance to small businesses and individuals, ensuring their retirement solutions are well-tailored, compliant, and aligned with long-term goals. He holds both the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist℠ (CRPS®) designation and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) certification, reinforcing his credibility and commitment to fiduciary excellence.

Throughout his career, Phillip has demonstrated an exceptional ability to integrate technology and finance. With a deep understanding of IT systems from his early career, and a current role in financial advisory, he bridges technical and strategic domains with ease. His ability to analyze data, craft retirement solutions, and navigate regulatory environments has allowed him to serve as a valuable asset to both his clients and colleagues. His insights are grounded in both academic preparation—with a BBA from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Sullivan University—and practical, on-the-ground leadership.

Phillip is known for his natural ability to build and sustain relationships, whether with clients, team members, or partners. His communication style is clear, respectful, and empathetic, enabling him to lead effectively across diverse teams and challenging environments. From leading Marines to advising business owners, he consistently creates trust-based environments where collaboration and accountability flourish. His public speaking engagements on financial wellness reflect not only his subject matter expertise but also his passion for education and empowerment.

An internationally aware leader, Phillip’s exposure to Japan during his military service and subsequent global IT work have given him a broad perspective on leadership and service. He brings cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and strategic agility to every boardroom or advisory role he steps into. This international dimension, combined with his experience in sectors such as retail, IT, and finance, makes him a valuable and well-rounded board candidate.

Outside of his professional life, Phillip finds fulfillment through coaching and watching football, wrestling, lacrosse, and volleyball. These interests reflect his lifelong belief in discipline, teamwork, and continuous growth. Whether mentoring a colleague or guiding a team to success, he strives to improve himself and others every single day—a value he lives by and brings into every professional setting.
