Mark White is a nationally recognized education leader, author, speaker, and consultant with over 40 years of experience spanning K–12 education, higher education, and private sector consulting. A visionary strategist, Mark is driven by a passion for helping organizations and individuals thrive in times of rapid change. His career is guided by the personal mantra, “Surfer on the Waves of Change,” reflecting his strength in leading through disruption and innovation.
As founder of Mark White Learning, LLC, he provides leadership coaching and professional development to school systems, universities, and global corporations. He has observed over 4,000 K–12 classroom lessons and has trained university advancement teams and Fortune 50 executives on generational leadership, communication strategies, and brand development. His expertise in instructional design, curriculum planning, and strategic transformation makes him a sought-after advisor across sectors.
Mark is the author and co-author of several influential books, including What’s in Your Space?, Leading Schools in Disruptive Times (selected by Learning Forward for its national Book Club), 5-Gen Leadership, and the forthcoming 4-Gen Leadership. He also teaches graduate-level online courses at Muskingum and Ashland Universities, further extending his influence on the next generation of educational leaders.
Internationally, Mark served as Academic Principal at Beijing National Day School International Department in China, managing a diverse team of 72 teachers and leading globally focused AP, IB, and A-Level programs. His global perspective has been shaped through work in China, Australia, Thailand, England, and Canada.
As Superintendent of Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools in Ohio, Mark led 7,000 students to the state’s highest academic rating and pioneered the design of Clark Hall, an innovative tech-integrated high school facility recognized nationally by Scholastic. His leadership drew visits from Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and Governor John Kasich. He also forged partnerships with Dell, Intel, and Cisco and was selected for Michael Dell’s Platinum Advisory Council.
Mark has presented at national conferences including Model Schools, EdSpaces, NASSP, and the National Renaissance Conference. His previous roles also include Director of Education and Outreach at Mindset Digital, where he educated C-suite executives on digital trends and strategy.
He holds a Master’s in Education Administration from Texas State University and certifications in principal and superintendent leadership. He earned his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
