As a former Principal at Vanguard, where she served for 31 years, Margaret played a pivotal role in corporate retirement plan management, high-net-worth client services, marketing/communications and international market expansion. Her extensive expertise spans mutual funds, retirement security, leadership development, and financial strategy. Today, she dedicates her time to nonprofit board service, lending her insights and leadership to organizations that drive meaningful change in communities.

During her tenure at Vanguard, Margaret held leadership positions across multiple business areas, serving Fortune 100 corporate clients and their employees. She worked closely with organizations to develop strategies that helped individuals achieve financial security in retirement. Her client-centric approach and deep understanding of the retirement marketplace contributed to Vanguard’s reputation as a leader in investment management and retirement income sufficiency. She also spearheaded Vanguard’s entry into the UK market, where she spent a year in London leading early-stage strategic initiatives.  An essential element of her success at Vanguard involved leading, developing and mentoring future leaders of the organization.

Beyond financial services, Margaret has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to nonprofit leadership. She currently serves as Board President of Carson Valley Children’s Aid (CVCA), an organization dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families. Under her leadership, CVCA successfully navigated a major affiliation with a larger public health entity, ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining its mission-driven impact. She has also played a crucial role in multiple CEO searches, overseeing leadership transitions to strengthen the organization’s future.

Margaret’s influence extends to several other nonprofit boards, where she applies her financial expertise, governance acumen, and strategic vision. She serves on the Board of Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) and its affiliated Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), both of which provide critical public health services to communities across the Philadelphia region. At PHMC, she is an active member of the Finance and Nominating Committees, contributing to the organization’s $300 million annual budget and strategic planning initiatives.

In the education sector, Margaret is a Board Member at Big Picture Philadelphia, an innovative nonprofit supporting two public high schools with transformative learning models. She has held key leadership roles as Treasurer and Secretary, helping the organization optimize its financial resources while expanding opportunities for students. Additionally, she served as a Board Member at Gwynedd Racquet Club, a community-based squash organization known for fostering inclusivity and athletic excellence.
