    Kathryn B. Royer is a highly skilled communications advisor and government and community affairs leader with decades of experience in both government and corporate sectors. Based in Cave Creek, AZ, she has consistently worked to improve local and regional quality of life through strategic planning, public and community relations, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

    Currently serving her third term as Vice Mayor and Council Member for the Town of Cave Creek, Kathryn has been instrumental in developing strategic initiatives that address fiscal sustainability, economic vitality, and community safety. In this role, she was a strategic communications advisor to the publicly elected Board of Directors and senior management, positioning CAP as a leader in western water issues and producing innovative media campaigns to enhance the organization’s visibility and trust.

    Earlier in her career, Kathryn was the Communications Services Manager and Principal of Corporate Citizenship at NiSource, Inc. in Merrillville, IN. She played a critical role in educating employees and customers on energy-related issues, resolving critical issues, and managing corporate grants. Her career in broadcasting began at WBBM-FM (CBS Inc.) in Chicago, IL, where she was the Director of Public Affairs, creating programming that addressed the needs of the Chicagoland community and receiving multiple awards for outstanding programming.

    Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her extensive experience, dedication to community service, and ability to build effective relationships make her a highly respected leader in communications and government affairs.
