Joshua Church is a distinguished military leader and law enforcement professional with over two decades of experience in the U.S. Army. His career is marked by unique achievements, such as leading a community-oriented policing force and successfully deploying a Protection Cell, demonstrating his dedication to his Soldiers through expert servant-leadership, a commitment to excellence and mission success, strategic insight, and exemplary guidance and direction in various high-stakes roles.
Joshua served in many positions of direct leadership and strategic importance. As a Provost Sergeant, he refocused and led a community-oriented policing force of 36 officers daily, supporting the safety of American and German citizens working for the United States. This required him to liaise with the German city government and police force and understand German law, which he excelled at. Joshua organized 7 events from the law and order and force protection perspective that allowed several hundred attendees to enjoy and build bi-nation comradery over a week.
He also served as an Operations Sergeants for three organizations throughout his career. The 18th Airborne Corps, Wiesbaden Garrison, or City Hall and mayoral body of a military post or base, a direct combat company on Fort Cavazos (Hood). While in the 18th he successfully deployed the Protection Cell of 22 high ranking Officers and Soldiers, their support personnel and equipment from Fort Bragg, NC to the National Training Center in California. The Cell was ready to support combat operations in 18 hours after arrival. This is the pinnacle of austere operations success.
As the Garrison Operations Sergeant, Joshua demonstrated his exceptional leadership and organizational skills by unifying the efforts of 14 separate Commands and hundreds of Soldiers to complete required tasks to support the daily life functions of the Base. He organized several dozens of events for the Command and Base, led working groups, steering committees, and sub-committees to support the Commanders mission success.
While serving as the Combat Operations Sergeant, Joshua showcased his strategic thinking and operational skills by creating a process for the 56 person Company to be certified in the Armor Corps Gunnery. This arduous process with 6 gates of completion that must be successfully completed in sequence for grade , took over 6 months to complete and 9 months to prepare for. He was the first Operations Sergeant to complete it in the 10 years, demonstrating his ability to create and implement complex processes.
Now retired from Military service, Joshua now contracts as a Senior Security Specialist for the Department of Defense. In this capacity, he has supported the Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM), the National Geo-Spatial Agency (NGA), and the Office of the Under-Secretary of Defense (OUSD). He is familiar with the Government acquisition life cycle and has extensive knowledge of program protection and risk analysis, as well as developing efficiency and reducing redundancies in administration.
Joshua’s academic background includes an Associate’s degree and a Bachelor of Science in General Studies with a focus on Psychology and Communication from the University of Maryland Global Campus. His educational achievements complement his practical experience, providing him with a robust foundation in both strategic and interpersonal skills.
Joshua holds several prestigious certifications from the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and the Defense Acquisition University, including the Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) and the Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC).
