Eric Grant is a mission-driven executive and visionary operator who has built a career on turning complex challenges into scalable opportunities. With over two decades of diverse leadership experience across the military, legal, and technology sectors, Eric brings an uncommon blend of strategic insight, operational discipline, and authentic people-first leadership to every role he undertakes. Currently serving as a Vice President at CivicPlus—an Insight Partners portfolio company—Eric leads product strategy and innovation for four flagship SaaS solutions. His ability to drive cross-functional alignment, foster high-performing teams, and deliver market-defining products has firmly positioned CivicPlus as an industry leader in the government technology space.
Previously, as Vice President and General Manager from 2021 to 2024, Eric led four CivicPlus business units through a period of explosive growth. He oversaw transformative growth initiatives across multiple product lines—including ArchiveSocial, NextRequest, and Municode—implementing innovative pricing models, sharpening go-to-market strategies and improving product-market fit. His efforts not only drove significant revenue growth but also enhanced customer satisfaction and loyalty across CivicPlus’s public sector client base.
Eric’s leadership story began in the United States Marine Corps, where he served as an M1-A1 tank platoon commander during Operation Enduring Freedom. The high-pressure decision-making, team accountability, and mission focus of military service laid the groundwork for his decisive, resilient, and values-driven corporate leadership style.
That same ethos guided his rise at Municipal Code Corporation (MCC), where he served in escalating executive roles from 2007 to 2021, culminating in his appointment as CEO. During his tenure, he executed a bold transformation of MCC from a traditional codification service into a modern SaaS leader. His stewardship included organic product development, multiple acquisitions, and ultimately, a successful sale of MCC to CivicPlus in 2021—a deal he personally negotiated, structured, and closed with private equity stakeholders.
With formal training in both law and public service, Eric’s academic background is as multidimensional as his career. He holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he concentrated on securities and M&A—a foundation that has informed his exceptional track record in corporate development and value creation. He also earned an M.A. in National Security Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a B.S. in Political Science from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he served as Brigade Commander, leading over 4,000 Midshipmen.
Beyond the boardroom, Eric is a committed public servant and community advocate. He serves on the boards of Capital City Bank Group (NASDAQ: CCBG) and Ascend Capital Group, providing governance and strategic insights that help shape long-term growth. He is also a board member of the Charlie Ward Champions Ranch, that is uniting community stakeholders to create a 100-acre athletic and leadership training complex for underserved youth in Tallahassee. His past service includes board chair roles with Tallahassee State College and the Community Foundation of North Florida, reflecting a lifelong dedication to education and community enrichment.
A frequent public speaker on leadership, patriotism, and entrepreneurship, Eric shares his experiences to inspire the next generation of purpose-driven leaders. Whether commanding a military unit, guiding a company through a liquidity event, or building a self-sustaining sports ranch, Eric’s north star remains the same: make a lasting difference in the lives of others while building sustainable value. He brings to every organization not only a wealth of operational and strategic experience but also a deeply personal commitment to servant leadership, innovation, and impact.
