Eric Corey Freed is a nationally recognized architect, author, and sustainability thought-leader with more than three decades of experience transforming the built environment through regenerative and ecologically intelligent design. As Principal and Director of Sustainability at CannonDesign, Eric leads the firm’s sustainability strategy across over 30 million square feet of new construction annually. His work is rooted in achieving net zero energy, reducing embodied carbon, and delivering measurable health, performance, and resilience outcomes—proving that beautiful, functional architecture can and must be sustainable.

A licensed architect in both Oregon and California, Eric studied Architecture at Temple University and earned a Master’s in Ecological Design from the San Francisco Institute of Architecture. He also apprenticed under students of Frank Lloyd Wright, grounding his practice in a philosophy that honors both place and purpose.
