“The greatest thing I’ve ever received was more time—and I plan to use it helping others find theirs.”

Dr. Patrick M. Zuniga is a visionary educator, thought leader, and strategic consultant whose life and work embody the power of resilience, emotional intelligence, and transformational leadership. With over 25 years of experience in education, coaching, consulting, and curriculum development, Dr. Zuniga has cultivated a career rooted in his passion for helping individuals and communities realize their full potential. His commitment to empowerment learning—an approach that centers individuality, character, and culture—has shaped how he leads classrooms, advises organizations, and inspires future leaders.

Raised in Washington State, Patrick developed a deep appreciation for history, human dynamics, and the transformative power of education from an early age. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in History from Washington State University, graduating cum laude and receiving several academic honors. His early academic and extracurricular leadership roles, including fraternity presidency and community involvement, laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to servant leadership and educational excellence.

Patrick began his teaching career in middle school English Language Arts and Social Studies, quickly building a reputation for innovation in the classroom. His dedication to culturally relevant pedagogy, differentiated instruction, and student-centered learning helped redefine engagement and achievement within diverse school communities. Over the next two decades, he advanced through various teaching positions in both middle and high school, implementing pedagogical strategies that aligned academic success with personal empowerment.

Throughout his professional journey, Dr. Zuniga remained a relentless learner, earning a Master of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University, followed by a Master of Science in Education from the University of Kansas. There, he developed his Self-Empowerment Curriculum Theory—a hybrid of educational philosophies and theories emphasizing character development, cultural awareness, and individual expression. He further refined this work through field-tested applications in classrooms, leadership seminars, and community programs.

In 2017, Patrick founded My Mind My Power, a consultancy dedicated to creating emotionally intelligent learning environments and promoting leadership through empowerment. Through this platform, he has offered consulting services, developed training programs, and delivered workshops focused on critical thinking, psychological capital, and overcoming organizational challenges. His approach integrates mindfulness, interdisciplinary leadership, and emotional literacy to support sustained transformation within educational and professional ecosystems.

Patrick’s doctoral work at Creighton University in Interdisciplinary Leadership synthesized years of teaching and research into a groundbreaking dissertation exploring psychological capital and teacher retention in Title I schools. His qualitative research offered vital insights into emotional labor, workplace dynamics, and motivational psychology—providing actionable strategies for educational leaders navigating post-pandemic challenges. He graduated in 2024 with a 4.0 GPA and distinction for his leadership contributions throughout the program.

In addition to his academic and consulting pursuits, Dr. Zuniga has been a dedicated athletic coach. Although he has coached baseball and wrestling, he has mentored the most student-athletes in football. His coaching philosophy mirrored his classroom ethos: develop the whole person, cultivate resilience, and promote collaborative excellence. Over nearly two decades, he has helped to coach teams that have secured multiple state championships and league titles, reflecting his ability to help to build winning cultures, which have been rooted in integrity and determination.

Patrick is also a frequent speaker and media contributor. He has been featured in IE Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Inspiring Leaders of 2024,” interviewed on platforms such as Xraised and Transforming Lives, and has presented alongside major organizations like Netflix on topics including mindfulness and self-awareness. His work has reached global audiences and has been used in academic and corporate settings to explore the intersections of leadership, motivation, and well-being.

Driven by an unwavering belief in human potential, Dr. Zuniga continues to advocate for strategies that connect emotional intelligence to academic, personal, and organizational growth. He is currently a middle school humanities teacher, an educational consultant, and a thought partner to schools and businesses seeking meaningful change. Whether mentoring a student, advising a board, or facilitating leadership development, Patrick brings deep empathy, analytical insight, and a collaborative spirit to every endeavor.
