Brent Jones, CFA, is a seasoned institutional investor and portfolio management executive with nearly four decades of experience across public and private markets. Based in New York, Brent brings a rare combination of analytical rigor, cross-asset expertise, and global perspective shaped by a 38-year career spanning industry giants like GE and Citibank. Most recently, he served as a Client Portfolio Manager at Citi Private Bank, where he provided strategic counsel on global equities and taxable fixed income products for high-net-worth and institutional clients. He retired from Citi Investment Management in June 2025.
Brent’s career began at General Electric, where he held diverse roles in corporate finance, asset management, and investment strategy. At GE Asset Management, he distinguished himself first in fixed income, managing over $20 billion in assets across money markets, security lending, asset-backed securities, corporate credit, and mortgage-backed securities. His deep understanding of portfolio construction, risk, and derivative strategies laid a strong foundation for his subsequent success in equities.
Transitioning into global equities, Brent took on leadership roles that defined his reputation as an emerging markets expert. As lead portfolio manager and team head for GE’s flagship Global Emerging Markets strategy, he expanded the platform from $1 billion to $8 billion in AUM. He launched and co-managed high-conviction products focused on India, China (including China A shares), Hong Kong, and frontier markets. Under his guidance, teams were strategically positioned in financial centers across Montreal, London, Munich, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and São Paulo—reflecting his hands-on, globally integrated approach.
Beyond asset management, Brent served as a trusted advisor at BECC Advisory, where he consulted companies on capital raising, growth strategy, and international expansion. His board affiliations span sectors and continents, including past roles with Dragon Capital in Vietnam, The Pharm in Arizona, UlivaJava (a Martha Stewart organic coffee brand), and current positions with Yako Medical Africa, Emerald Industrial in Nigeria, and Senergy Afrique in Ghana and Senegal.
