Benjamin A. As Chief Investment Officer of Dobbs Management Service (DMS), Ben oversees a diverse and complex global portfolio that includes cash, direct public equity, private equity, private debt, and alternative investments. With a sharp focus on strategic sourcing, portfolio construction, and rigorous due diligence, he leads a team of professionals managing significant wealth with institutional-grade discipline and purpose. Ben currently serves as a board of director on six operating businesses spanning multiple industries and sectors.

Ben’s expertise spans multiple asset classes and industries, underpinned by a career dedicated to value creation through operational excellence and investment precision. Since joining DMS in 2019, he has spearheaded platform acquisitions, led purchase negotiations, structured legal and debt frameworks, and served as a lead board director on operating businesses ranging from furniture manufacturing to digital marketing. A strategic architect at heart, Ben is also building out a next-generation venture capital investment platform to ensure the long-term sustainability and engagement of the Dobbs family legacy.

His leadership is characterized by innovation and modernization, as evidenced by his implementation of a new investment and reporting tool at DMS, streamlining communication and performance tracking with alternative investment managers. In addition to overseeing periodic reporting and investment communication with family stakeholders, he offers advisory support on charitable giving, insurance structuring, and personal financing matters—reflecting a holistic and trusted advisory role.

Ben also serves on the investment committee of CYMI, LTD, the Mathile family office, where he plays a critical role in setting investment policies and evaluating performance against objectives. Previously, Ben served as Managing Director at Huizenga Capital Management for over a decade. There, he co-managed private equity, hedge fund, and venture capital portfolios while leading global diligence efforts that took him across five continents. He was instrumental in process improvement, CRM tool integration, talent management, and leadership development—laying the foundation for a high-performing, mission-driven investment team.

Ben’s professional roots began in transactional advisory services at KPMG and Arthur Andersen, where he led due diligence for major leveraged buyouts, cross-border acquisitions, and carve-outs ranging up to $1.7 billion. He earned top accolades and was handpicked for elite leadership programs, including KPMG’s Achieve Leadership Program and its Vice Chairman’s Strategic Advisory Committee. His consulting tenure helped shape his analytical rigor and dealmaking acumen.

Ben holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and International Business from Marquette University, where he graduated with honors. He also studied at Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain, and is fluent in Spanish—further enhancing his global perspective.

A dedicated community leader, Ben currently serves as Vice Chairman of Catholic Charities of West Tennessee and is a board member for Endeavor Staffing, a workforce development program for the homeless. He previously held leadership roles at Catholic Charities of Chicago and remains actively involved in local philanthropic initiatives. His commitment to literacy, youth development, and global affairs speaks to his belief in leadership as a service to others.
