Austin’s journey in technology began at Harvard University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, graduating with a strong academic record.  During his time at Harvard, Austin was an active participant in various student organizations, including the Harvard Esports Association and the Harvard Undergraduate Robotics Club. His experience at Harvard, both academically and through extracurricular activities, fostered a deep interest in problem-solving and technology development.

While completing his degree, Austin launched his career at Scientia, LLC, where he worked as a Systems and Software Engineering Intern. In this role, he contributed to the development of the Ground-Based Operational Surveillance System (GBOSS(E)) for the U.S. Military. His work involved developing tools to bidirectionally translate data between multicast groups and designing unit tests to verify system behavior. Austin’s performance during his internship highlighted his ability to work under pressure and his keen understanding of the intricacies of systems development in high-security contexts.

Building on this experience, Austin moved to Hyannis Port Research (HPR), a leading provider of risk management solutions for financial markets. As an Applications Engineer III – Global Technical Lead, he spent over four years developing ultra-low-latency, high-performance systems to support risk management functions in the US and foreign markets. Austin led efforts to design and optimize systems that handled complex, real-time data processing for critical market infrastructure, demonstrating his expertise in C programming, Linux, and software development. His ability to navigate the complexities of both hardware and software challenges was instrumental in the success of several projects that directly impacted the operational efficiency and reliability of market systems, eventually culminating in him leading the day-to-day operations of both the North American and Asia Pacific regions.

In January 2024, Austin joined Miami International Holdings, where he continues to advance his career as an Application Developer. In his current role, Austin works on the development and maintenance of mission-critical systems that support the operations of Miami International’s trading platforms. His expertise in low-latency systems, combined with his experience in capital markets infrastructure, ensures that he contributes significantly to the firm’s efforts to stay at the forefront of the financial technology space.

Austin’s skill set spans a wide range of technical areas, including C/C++, Java, Python, and Linux, and he has developed a reputation for his ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues at all levels of infrastructure, from hardware to software. He is particularly adept at creating and optimizing solutions that require precision and performance, an invaluable skill in industries where even the smallest delay can result in significant financial loss.

Though Austin has not yet published articles or spoken publicly on industry topics, he remains committed to expanding his knowledge and growing professionally. He is particularly interested in contributing to Fintech, Financial Services, Public Utility, Software, and Data Processing sectors. He is open to working with companies of all sizes, with a preference for organizations with 250 or fewer employees. His passion for technology and problem-solving drives him to continually seek out new challenges, and he views his career as a path of continuous improvement, always striving to contribute to the success of others and the organizations he serves.

In his personal life, Austin enjoys soccer, strategy games, and travel, activities that reflect his team-oriented mindset and his appreciation for diverse cultures. He also brings a global perspective to his work, having heavily engaged with the Asia Pacific region in a professional capacity. Austin is currently considering how best to contribute to the broader technology community, and he looks forward to the opportunity to serve on a board where he can further apply his technical expertise to help shape the future of organizations.
