Alix Dowling, Vice President of Global Business Services (GBS) at Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), is a seasoned legal and finance executive. A former law partner at a premier law firm, Alix is currently a senior finance executive at a Fortune 50 company. She is recognized for her strategic leadership and expertise in global finance, taxation, back office services, and operational excellence.
In her current role at ADM, Alix oversees a global team of over 1,300 people performing critical functions across controlling, customs, credit, collections, human resources, accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, and master data. She has expertise in ERP transitions, process improvement, and data & analytics.
Prior to her role leading the GBS function, Alix served as the third VP of Global Tax in ADM’s 120-year history. During her tenure, she developed and executed ADM’s tax vision and strategy, leading initiatives in over 160 operational countries. Her responsibilities ranged from compliance, M&A, tax strategy and transfer pricing, as well as overseeing very material audits and litigation around the world. She has experience navigating statutory and regulatory topics with government officials for critical tax policy changes in various jurisdictions.
Before joining ADM, Alix built a strong foundation in legal practice at the law firm Jenner & Block LLP, where she made partner after 7 years. Her practice specialized in U.S. federal tax law, including M&A and joint ventures, as well as bankruptcy and professional malpractice matters.
Alix holds undergraduate and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Chicago. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
